Hello guys, i stumbled upon a rolex submariner wich has a pepsi bezel and white background. I've never seen one before and that makes me think it's fake, if you guys could tell me anything i'd really appreciate it. On a sidenote, it's not mine, it's a friend's but i find it intriguing somehow.

I think I know what's going on here. There are 2 possible scenarios:
(A) An Albino or White Face Sub
Your friend has a customized Rolex Sub whereby the rotating steel bezel has been replaced with an aftermarket Pepsi insert and a corresponding white dial

OR

(B ) Did you see a 3 or a 4 hander watch ? A GMT is easily missed at first glance if the GMT hand overlaps the minute hand. Perhaps your friend has a Frankenwatch a.k.a Rolex Mod watch. It's basically a Rolex Pepsi GMT Master but the original black dial has been replaced with an Explorer II white dial .The principal idea is of course to aesthetically mimic a Rolex Albino Pan Am a.k.a Vanilla Pepsi GMTI once had a Timex Indiglo that looked exactly like the one in the photo

It is possible to put a GMT pepsi bezel insert into a Submariner bezel but it doesn't do much good as there is no 24 hour hand to correlate to it. However, Rolex did not make a white dial Submariner.

With aftermarket parts any sort of frankenwatch is doable.

Actually Rolex made a white dial pepsi GMT for Pan-Am executives. No modification would have been needed. https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/Al...MT-Master-6542

A lot of first time posters pop up here asking if their Grandfather's/friend's/uncle's watch is real, and it does make some members here a little jaded.

Don't take it personally.

The watch is a bad fake. It's a mishmash of Rolex styles and models and is so wrong on so many levels. It deserves some modification with a ball pein hammer.
