Hopefully still on the Diver's wrist if it isn't panic but fear not as the watch will be fine for year's to come well ok it will be covered in marine growth.

Beautiful pics. I’ve been diving for about since I was 16 so half my life. Most of my diving now is tec diving and spear fishing. In NJ I dove a lot in crap vis and deep cold water. I do enjoy the nice leisure dives on vacation. That was the only diving my ex would do. I have taken my Rolexes down a few times on leisure dives but I need my wrists for computers now. With some trimix fills being $150+ I like to get as much bottom time as possible.

Thank you. We all quite agree with the use of moden diving aids as they are a valued asset and much needed to aid safety procedures.

Could you imagine using a dive table and a watch on a really deep trimix dive. I’d still be hanging on the deepest dive I ever did. Here’s a few pics I had on my phone. The spearfishing pics are from the Dry Tortugas. That as the first Amberjack I ever shot. The pic of my computer at around 174’ (sorry u can barely read it) was advanced deco procedure training. And I took a pic of one of the deepest dives I’ve ever done at 105m/345’ on a rebreather deep wall dive. Good thing about rebreathers is much less deco time. That dive had a deco of about 2 hours and I was being very conservative. On OC scuba would prob be in the water atleast 3.5-4 hours and prob have a huge gas bill. I have a pic of my DSSD next to my computer at 201’ somewhere and I’ll have to find it and load it up. Sorry I don’t have a lot of pretty fish pics on my phone. I hardly carry a camera. I do have a lot of fresh fish ready for the grill. Now I use a Shearwater computer and if you are into any kind of mixed gas diving give them a look.

The underwater world is absolutely beautiful, but the idea of crushing pressure and being in an environment without breathable air is my idea of hell.
I'm sure those air tanks are safe and all but you won't see me going down there

I’ve kinda gotten out of the really really deep stuff. I hate long deco stops. I lost a friend on the Oriskany who had around 5000 dives under his belt and had a rebreather issue and died of O2 tox at only 110’. He never knew he was breathing almost 100% oxygen which is fatal at only 33 ft. I’ve had another friend pass as well but he was a student and took a breath at 20’ depth and shot to the surface without exhaling causing an air embolism. I know a few cavers that aren’t around anymore and even saw someone shoot someone else with a speargun. Now I prefer bounce diving spearfishing trying to stay above 200’. Do it quick enough and you can actually stay out of deco but I always do a safety stop (unless I’m being harassed by the man in the grey suit.). I’ll give up my fish I just don’t like to. And a very experienced spear fisherman told me let’s face it getting bent is based on theory and math but a shark bite is reality. There’s been a time or two I should’ve gotten bent and didn’t and one time I got the minor bends (just really bad joint pains) after using a very conservative computer and a long safety stop.

We sorry to hear of the sad news within the risks in pursuing this wonderful activitie. As we gain more & more knowledge of whats beyond our planet but unfortunately no very little of the depths of our oceans.
