Juice cleanse? Anybody ever do one? I started today.....

Well after six days of stuffing my face nonstop with every carb and sweet I can get my hands on, I stepped on the scale yesterday to get the verdict. The sentence was strong as I expected, I lost 35 pounds last year and have gained 15 of it back. I decided enough is enough, and a trainer told me to do a 2 or 3 day juice fast. (I went with the two). This should get me back on the right track, but I probably won't be too much fun for the next two days. Bottoms up…

Never a cleanse, but I’ve juiced for years. Good luck!

Interested in your results as well, I fudged up my diet considerably over the holiday too.

You're essentially getting rid of all macro nutrients, protein and most other things of value and replacing it with sugar for 2 days?

Don't think it will do too much other than spike your insulin levels.

I have done a 7 day juice cleanse program while I was doing a yoga camp program in Bali earlier this year. It was fine - but eating healthy and feeling good is something that is a longer time lifestyle change, and a 2 or 3 day program in isolation will only yield temporary results.

This is pure speculation but i think that when someone does a juice cleanse, it essentially gives their digestive system some rest, making them feel better. sort of like how you feel better when fasting. There also seems to be plenty of easily absorbed nutrition in the juices.

I'd rather do a week of fasting than pump myself full of refined carbohydrates.

I do tea cleanses. Have not tried juice. I cleanse every couple of months for a couple days. Good for the system IMO.

I do like juice, greens, and protein smoothies after a workout. Good luck Rick.

that's why I did it now!! This 2 day cleanse is to "kickstart" things according to a trainer. Then Im going on a 60 day deal to drop these 15 unwanted lbs. I will then REWARD myself with A BRAND NEW ROLEX!!! IF I waited until after the Holidays, it would be much worse. No egg nog for me....

Why not focus on a solid diet/training plan that you can keep following, instead of something quick to lose weight only to fall back into old habits

Eating clean is key...protein, good fats, complex carbs. Unfortunately, there is no magic bullet to lose weight other than exercise and smart choices.

Ive always done the Isagenix 30 day cleanse system. In 30 days, if you stick to the diet; you will lose 10% of your starting weight in that time.

It's that stuffing your face thing that packs the pounds on. A conventional diet and exercise plan that you can stick to, with the will power to avoid holiday binging, will keep your weight where you want it. These 'programs' are usually the path to a yo yo weight gain.

Not really a juice cleanse, but....

As a child I asked my mother what scurvy was after watching either a Scooby Doo episode or Disney ghost pirate movie. We'll, she explained to me that pirates developed scurvy from lack of vitamin C, and there teeth would fall out as a result.

We'll, the thought of having my teeth fall out horrified me.

As a result I have always drank copious amounts of juice.

This is big in the yoga world. I’ve been a part of dozens in some way shape or form

People love the juice cleanse. It’s a complete waste and total nonsense.

Limit your calories, balance your diet and exercise. The only thing this “cleanse” will do is ruin your day.

Best of luck to you, Rick It's always so nice to see people pursuing goals and I'm certain you'll achieve it. Rewarding yourself with the watch is a very good plan and added motivation!
