being scammed by a pledge member. please help

I have purchased multiple watches through this forum and never had an experience like this. I worked out a price for a Rolex 116610 Submariner with Karle12 via email. During the discussions we agreed that he would ship the watch overnight the following morning. I promptly wired $7000 to his account which he told me he received the following morning at 9am.

The following day I wait till the evening and email him about getting a tracking number. He tells me that he didn't have a chance to ship the watch and will ship it overnight the following day. The following day he makes up an excuse that he couldn't make it to the post office again and that he would mail out the watch on the following Monday. At this point I start getting concerned and agitated and tell him to wire my money back. He sends me a receipt showing that he wired my money. It is now Tuesday of the following week and I still haven't received the funds back in my account.

Please advise me as to what to do. Thank you.

File a police report. Since it is a wire, file a complaint with the FBI. If the seller was honest you would have received your watch or the return of funds by now.

Of course the seller deserves an explanation but in my mind it has to be a lot better than a good explanation. It better be a great explanation.

I hope it works out for the OP

Maybe reach out to him and let him know this thread is started. A google search shows some positive feedback so maybe he has run into delays?

Hope it all works out in the end!!

If you look at both their posts, they are mainly very short "Congrats," "Cheers," "beautiful watch" type posts. Hmmmm.

IMO, there's a big difference between a "trusted seller" and a guy selling a few watches.

He's not on my trusted list.

When did you wire the funds? The seller indicates that the watch was sold on December 15 - last Friday. Today is only December 19, with a weekend between.

Wire fraud is a crime, it’s sad some folks want jail time over a few k.

OP I’m sure you’ll be made whole, may just take some time.

Wires take one business day. Ask him for a Fed Confirmation Number!

I hope it works out for the OP.

I'm always so disappointed when I see people behave like petty entitled children if they feel they have a chance to get away with something.

Ideally, I'd love to hear that the OP ends up getting his watch along with a hilarious story involving compounding mistakes and shenanigans...
