Icon5 White noise

Does anyone here listen to white noise when in bed, or when you need to concentrate and want to block out distracting sounds?

Been listening to white noise and rain sounds when I read books and also quite often to fall asleep (especially back when I was in my apartment, at home it is much quieter)

Yes, I have been accustomed to it. A large fan in the bedroom in the warmer months and a whole house humidifier in the cold months.

We used them at the hospital, especially for little kiddos, who preferred the "ocean waves" selection.
Home here - no need: Watching TV, the sandman works his magic without my knowledge - frequently I wake up with my spectacles still perched...
Travelling? Very difficult to sleep, regardless of my tactics.

Just started using “Okay Google, play Jungle sounds” on my Google Home speaker. Very relaxing.

I do time-to-time... Alexa actually has an entire free library of rain, seagulls, etc. etc., and it's very relaxing.

two humidifiers and a fan most of the time. Usually both kids end up in the bed with us so helps with everyone. Can't sleep when it's quiet. Hotel rooms I bring a noise machine and/or my own humidifier.

kids love white noise for bed. They each have a noise machine. My wife has what equates to a jet turbine for a fan in our room. Sounds like we are either at the airport or the front seat of a Cessna. And yes, it all gets carted around when we travel.

During my intern year I learned to sleep anywhere/anytime
I can still sleep through a fireworks display if needed

Not too fancy here. I just turn on the radio at a level so low, I can hear that it's on but can't really make out what's being said.

I do, have a sound machine connected to my bedroom stereo and listen to it at night. When on the road, I usually sleep with headphones on, bluetoothed to my phone with white noise. Maybe it’s from all my years on carriers, but if it’s too quiet I can’t sleep.

Friends from Harlem stayed with us on the lake in Minnesota. They woke up the first morning exhausted. It was too quiet, and they couldn't sleep.

Growing up in Manhattan where it's always noisy ........ I always have a difficult time sleeping when it's " too quiet ".

An air purifier in my bedroom is on each evening and usually when I travel the sound of the hotel's AC or heater does the trick☺

I usually look where I'm going when I drive

Back at the ranch, when I'm trying to focus and the office is too noisy I use the white noise app on my iPhone. It's great for ocean sounds, rain, log fires, etc. They even have those binaural beats thingies now.

Similar to you, I use a room humidifier, in the winter.

When I sleep, I just close my eyes and sleep. White noises wake me up; sounds of a car from 4 blocks away, I can hear sometimes. Perhaps my body is exhausted.

A large part of my life has been spent living on the ocean front. Currently I am 1km away from the sea. I really miss falling asleep to the sound of waves breaking when falling asleep.
