Icon5 What material are black numbers/markers made out of?

Rolex famously uses white gold for hands/hour markers/numbers on dials across all SS models, no matter whether it's the lowest-priced Oyster Perpetual or the most expensive SkyDweller. But what about those odd-ball models that come with black hour markers/numbers? What are those made of?

I'm referring to the 34mm Oyster Perpetual (some signed as Air King, some not) like this:

and the Daytona silver racing dial version like this:

Are those made of WG, too? Painted over black? Or is it something like what PP does with their white-dial Nautilus - some special process to treat the gold and have it blackened?

Geez, I totally forgot about that model. Yes, it has black markers and hands, too.

Here's what the Rolex website says:

Can anyone confirm that going back to the 2000's when the OP34 was in production with this dial that the markers were made out of white gold, too? Just painted over?

Yes, of course. I'm confusing Rolex markers with what powers iPhones.
