DBlue for SkyD Stainless Black Face

Hi All,

Have to opportunity the make the trade of my DBlue for the Stainlees SkyD with black face (would have to add a little cash of course). I have loved the DBlue and it made a great daily, but am thinking of making the switch.

Simple question....Would you ??

Opinions are welcomed ! TIA

Never! Not for a black face nor for a blue face . D blue is in a league of it's own.

I own both D Blue and Black SkyD and would take the SkyD over D Blue all day long. The D Blue is a fun weekend watch but never wear it to work as doesn’t work well with dress shirts and cuffs. The SkyD is the perfect daily wearer and much more useful to me. So absolutely would do if I had to in order to get the SkyD.

I would, but then I could not rock the d blue as is too big for me. All told though, I prefer the sky d so would for sure and black would be the one for me too....

I don't know...I guess it depends on how much you like (or don't) the D-Blue. Problem is, you used the "L" word when you referred to it. That means there's a high incidence of you re-acquiring it at some point down the road. (Yes, it happens)

So my suggestion would be to buy the Sky-D and put them in your rotation back to back and see which one wins. And then, if it's the D-Blue, you would be better off selling it privately anyway.

I think you'd be switching from a very sports oriented watch to a far more, almost exclusively, dress watch. Not that either can't be both but DBlue is better casual than in a suit and SkyD (like the DJ) is better dressed up than in jeans/shorts. I'd figure out how you wear it the most and decide from there.

I think the SkyD is fantastic, I saw a black dial in person last week. I'd love to have an annual calendar complication. The one I saw last week was spoken for, or else...

No way I could wear a Dblue so no question!!! SkyD is a wonderful watch!!! Black is manys' preferred dial. I you like the dial then go for it. Dblue is just too big for me.

Not a chance for me. I think the SkyD is a great watch and very versatile but I could't even consider it.
You said the D-Blue has been a great daily which makes me think you'd miss it. Good luck!

Just purely on a functional basis, I’d have more use for the SkD than a DSSD so I’d do the trade.

Yeah I agree. If swap the DSSD for a blue SkyD but that’s about it.

I dont think I could part with the D-blue. I would feel bad if I let that one go. The D-Blue is about the most fun you could have on a wrist...legally! Good luck which ever way you go!

Sorry but the SkyDweller is anything but a dress watch. Rolex makes only one dress line and its Cellini. Dress watches aren’t large steel watches on Oyster bracelets. The SkyDweller is perfect like every other SS Oyster with jeans, shorts etc. There is simply nothing dressy about a SkyDweller unless you are talking about one of the PM ones on leather strap. If one wants a dress watch then buy a Cellini or a Calatrava don’t even look at a SkyDweller.

Agree to disagree. Like the DJ, the SS SkyD favors more dressy attire than does the DSSD. The DSSD favors more casual dress. I said either can function as both, but not equally well. If I were choosing I’d consider I wear jeans everyday and that favors the DSSD. If I wore professional casual or suits I’d lean towards the SkyD. Cellini are dressy and beyond to formal attire.

The DSSD is purely casual as it doesn’t fit under a cuff. The SkyD is far more versatile as it is great for casual and can be worn also with a suit. Your first post said the SkyD is almost exclusively dress which of course it isn’t being it isn’t a dress watch.

A little cash? My guess is at least $5000
I have both and love both. I wouldn't trade either for the other.

Sounds like you like your DSSD so I’d hang on to it and add a Sky Dweller later on. I could never wear a DSSD due to its size, but I sure would if I had the wrists for it.

Unless you’re out of love with the d-blue, I would add the skydweller at a later date. The d-blue will be harder to acquire in the future. And besides, it’s a bad ass watch!

I’d trade for the blue face - not black.

I agree with the comments about The SkyD being a more versitile watch. I like my Deep Blue a lot, but it is more of a weekend watch for me

I'd make the trade. The new SS SkyD is a great watch. Initially I preferred the blue dial in pics but the black dial is really starting to grow on me lately.

I have a D-Blue and I love the SkyD but I don't think I could make that trade. I have mine on as I type and I love it.
