Black bay steel

Is it me or do the black bays look better in jewelry store lighting?

Everything looks better under controlled lighting, that's the point. However, a friend of mine has one and I think it looks pretty good all the time.

Yeah...the metal bezel picks up and reflects the lights of the store. Same concept with fluted bezels. Looks spectacular.

I'm a fan of natural or subdued lighting.

The lighting helps make the sale. It’s like the controlled wooden rooms guitar shops have to try high-end acoustic guitars. The sound in that environment is really superior to what you will experience at home or in another environment.

The blue on the bezel varies greatly depending on lighting but I’d say the Batman is popular for these reasons: first bi-color ceramic bezel, only bi-color ceramic bezel on SS, black and blue looks awesome and the GMT II is one of Rolex’s most useful watches. People aren’t diving everyday but most likely have a use for a second time zone or even third one with a turn of the bezel and it’s the perfect watch for traveling. Yes Sky-Dweller too but its price put it of reach for many until now and it’s a dressier watch. Also a bigger one that doesn’t suit as many wrists like 40mm. Even if the BLRO were in SS, I still think the Batman would sell as well as it does.

Big fan of the steel. Really like the “industrial” feel. A true tool watch.
