Anyone heard anything about the 114060 sub?

I've been having a recurring customer that keeps indicating that the 114060 was discontinued.

Now I haven't found anything on the net and besides one or two persons having stated that it was been talked in the UK. Don't know or have anything substantial.

Anyone has heard anything about it?

Reference 114060 is still depicted on Rolex's web site as a current model.

The Submariner has been around for going on 70 years. I doubt Rolex will discontinue it.

Nothing confirmed, just possible a new movement could be added, so fuelling gossip and spiking prices until Basel.

I just put a deposit on a SUB, they will hold it for me until Basel. If Basel releases a SUB with the new movement then I'll be getting that, if they dont then I get the SUB my AD currently has. He was willing to do this as the SUB has been sittin gthere for a month, so no SUB shortage I guess.

I don’t see many in display cases. Once again, why would a company stop producing desirable goods it make a handsome profit on? 114060 is a beauty. That’s next up for me.

Of course it's being discontinued. The replacement is the 124060.

The 14060M was the last Sub to get an update to six digits, so it would be very interesting if Rolex started a Sub refresh with the 114060.

If it's a major reworking of the case with the new movement, it would probably be called the 214060.

Nothing reliable. There was a rumor thread on WUS back in December where someone claimed he was told during a poolside chat at a resort by someone who works for Rolex that the no-date Sub is due to be pulled and reissued in a WG-only version with a red line. There has been zero confirmation of that information, but it did spark a further rumor that all Submariners will henceforth only be issued in PM. That came from a person who misread the original WUS thread. It wouldn't surprise me if the customer you're referring to read one of these threads. Until further information arises, we can only presume it's nonsense.

There was a rumour a while ago that the 114060 would indeed be discontinued.

Rumour being @ Basel 18 that it would re-appear as a WG model only.

I didnt believe at first but kind of makes sense as we get closer and I believe indeed may happen. A WG 114060 would be hottest watch Rolex produced. Fire.

Its funny because this year its like no one has a clue in the slightest what Rolex may do. Rolex has rocked the boat to say the least and as far as I am concerned nothing is off the table. IF the BLRO is discontinued as many have professed why not replace with a WG no date?

Everyone seems to be so caught up in GMT mania that I can see Rolex going off the board.

Basel 18 might very well be like no other and indeed show Rolex moving forward in basically a brand new watch era.

I no longer believe that past history is the best indicator of future behaviour from Rolex.

Unpredictability seems to be the Rolex game right now.

I still think there has to be some basis for an expectation. Anyone can fantasize about anything, but to say an option "makes sense," there must be some reason for it, no?

That wouldn't be a replacement. You would be left with no WG GMTs, and two WG Submariners.

Sure. Expectation is usually based on past behaviour.

I expect this to change based on observation of past 12 months.

Rolex rocks the boat. Book it. This isnt Rolex of 5 years ago. New climate. Greys becoming the new ADs. PP AP ROLEX have noticed. Times are changing.

Haven't heard a thing about it. I consider the BLRO disco to be confirmed. Discontinuing both the GMT and Sub WG models in the same year would be rocking the boat, indeed.
