I would say, wait for the blue. I am not a fan of buying things as a compromise

This is good advice. Wait and get the one you want.

6 months ago, I would say do it. But now, I say wait for the one you really want. White dial is stunning, but is not as popular, so you will lose a little in market value if you decided it is not for you.
But it doesn't hurt to go take a look. You may change your mind.

I would buy what you want, and wait for the blue or the black dial. Don't settle for something you don't want.

Why would you buy a white dial if you don't want it?

wait. You will regret it. As nice as the white dial is, its not what you want.

I would wait until you get offered the one that you want.
I have been led to believe that here in the UK, Rolex are tightening up on what customers can buy!
For example if you buy the white dial, unless you have a really good relationship with your AD, you will not be offered another Sky-Dweller.
Also the number of Professional models that a customer can buy over a fixed period of time are being capped.

I’ll be in London this week do they have it or in Europe?

You might end up always wishing you got the blue or black. Wait for the one you really want.

Not at AD's that I have been in contact with.
Plenty via the normal grey channels, but at the usual premium!!!!!

Do not compromise if you are spending that type of money wait for the one you really like, otherwise you may regret not waiting. It would be worth the wait in the end. Do not settle for your second best.

From pics I would choose the blue, but in real life the white is equally stunning

Makes no sense to get a watch you don’t want, be patient for the blue dial.

I was next on the list for a blue and got offered a white. Thought I’d take a look and as soon as I saw it I wanted it and bought it. I’m not one for settling for my second choice, however it didn’t feel like that. Yes I realise the blue is worth more but I’ve never bought a watch to make money out of it. Also the AD couldn’t guarantee a blue anytime soon. There could be a price rise before one, there could be something at Basel, I could be waiting years, whereas I can wear my watch right now.

Go and try it out and see what you think.

Come on mate.
It's not like it's your first Rolex.

It's simple.
Get the white and wait for the Blue just like everybody else.
AND YOU REALLY NEED TO SE IT IN THE FLESH AND TRY IT ON BEFORE MAKING A FINAL DECISION.

Or wait for the Blue.
Or take both and decide later depending upon wrist time.

Forget popularity.
Get what makes you happy, not what everybody else thinks is the way to go or based upon some preconceived idea about resale value

Why buy what you don't want, especially for such an expensive luxury goods item? If it was me, i'd graciously thank them for the opportunity, express appreciation, then let them know you'll wait for the blue dial as you wanted.

Not about spending several grand on something that isn’t really the one you want. Wait it out and it will be even more sweet when you get the call.

For me, it depended on the other pieces in the collection and what makes sense, as far as wearability. I initially wanted the black SkyD--it's elegant, can be dressed up and down, and I already had a Daytona, a black dial, Z-blue dial Milgausses. Made more sense to go with the white for me to round out the collection (so I thought) for different occasions, dress, etc. The white SkyD is definitely not understated, but it isn't flashy either--the dial appears different in different lighting--as people have said. At times white, other times silver, still others has a nice creamy look.

Then again, sometimes we just want what we want.

Me personally...I would go take a look at it and see it in the flesh.

I think that the relative scarcity of this item has led a lot of us (I'm including myself here) to make judgements about the watch based solely on pictures...never a good idea.
