Air-King - is something wrong here?
This is my first post, so I hope I comply!
I just came across an on-line offering of a "vintage" Air-King 5500 at a reasonable price, but the indicated year of production compared to what I can make out on the case S/N seem in conflict. Seller indicates about '67 or '68. Serial No. appears 947660 with a strange symbol at the end. Would appreciate any thoughts or comments! |

I think that "strange symbol" is the number "8".
Can't completely make out the first digit of the SN on this monitor, but looks like either a 3, 8, or 9 mil SN. The oldest variation (3 mil) would put it in the early `70s. If it is in fact a 9mil, then it would be late `80's, just prior to the switch over to the Alpha-numeric SNs. |

That would do it - need a closer look! Thanks.
