Perfect Rolex & Patek duo
Just for fun, lately I’ve been thinking about what would be my Rolex & Patek duo of choice for life (I don’t know why, since I’m not looking to purchase). After much thought I’ve come to the conclusion that I would pick my SubC Date and the 5712. I think they compliment each other very well and I’m very casual so I dont need a dress watch.
Curious to know what TRF would pick from the two best brands in the world imho. Some pics of my duo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In my current stable, I could reduce to a 116610LV and the 5164A and be completely happy. So that is the perfect pair for me.

I always think about that too. Current plan is either 5711 blue/Yg DD, or Daytona C white/5205R or 5712R. The issue is I don't want to pay premium for 5711 or the 500 C Daytona through.
But my dream combo will be PP minute repeater/YG DD. Hopefully can get there in 10 years :-) |

This is roughly what was on my mind as well. I just wasn't sure if I'd go Daytona, SD4Kc, or SubC Date. I've never worn them, so it would most likely come down to whichever one I took to on the wrist.
That being said, the 5164A-001 is one of my favorite watches. A close second here would be the 5711/1A-011.

I'd choose a blue dial Nautilus.

Perfect Rolex & Patek duo
I need to bend the rules a little because I can narrow it down to four for now, but I can’t make it to two just yet. 🤦🏻

I'd do 116506 and 5522A (Pilot Calatrava, NY edition of 600).

Next to my Sub, i would add one of these 3: 5711/1A-o1o, 5711R or 5726/1A-oo1.

With what's currently offered, I'd say:
SubC Date + 5711 Blue With what I believe is released within the next few years: SD43 all white text + 5196G @ 38mm w/ larger movement There's a lot of crazy options in PM or with complications you could mix things up with. However, on a two watch collection, I feel you need to stick to the basics to have you covered in every situation. Essentially a 'sport + dressier' combo. |
