My Submariner Lunette Verte Ceramic

Last friday (3/9/18) I received a call from an AD telling me that they just received the SD43 and 116610LV. A week earlier, my sales rep had called me to say that they had received a SD43 but when she checked on the price, it was sold while I was on the phone. I took no chances this time and immediately drove 20 minutes down the 5 south to Mission Viejo.

I tried on both but the Lunette Verte was calling my name, I put it to a vote and the LVc won 3 to 1. My 5yo daughter cast the sole vote for the SD43

As this was my first Rolex purchase, I didn't realize how hard it would be to get one. I visited many of the ADs in Socal and 3 in Vegas. "Have you purchased from us before", "We're no longer taking names on the list", or "Those are for preferred customers" became all too common. Your personal jewelers were not so personal. South Coast was no bueno.

I must commend my sales rep, despite having never purchased from them, she actually took down my information and called me when they received the watches. She came through big and I had only stopped by and met her in January.

I've wanted a Rolex Submariner for a while. It only took about 15+ years for me to make my purchase, I recall Subs retailing for $4-$5k at the time.

The 116610LV has been on my wrist ever since and has replaced the 70s era Oysterdate Precision 6694 I received from my Uncle (which I have been wearing close to 2 years).

Great story, glad it worked out, it also took me quit some time to finally get my LV sub, both in general (in life) and after I ordered - probably around 6 months. It wasn't still in much demand then but I was getting a discount so I waited patiently and continued wearing my EXPII as a daily which I had also recently obtained. I had a crazy idea once to see if I should trade it "up" to a SD, after trying it on for 10 seconds I knew the SD was not for me and the sub was hear to stay, much more comfortable and wearable since it is one of my daily pieces. Also thanks for calling it anything but the H word, Lunette Verte so classy! Congrats.

Congrats it’s a great watch! Maybe the best Rolex dial in collection.

I can't disagree my friend, the blue and chocolate dials are also sensational but some other brands do almost as good a job, whereas the green sunburst is peerless.

Congrats!

Thats a great story. I am also paitently waiting a call from my AD. He told me to expect 8 weeks, and that was 4 weeks ago. He told me I was next on his list the ladt time I went in so I hope they dont doscontinue it at basel. The LV will be my first.

Congrats my fellow Tustinian. I’ve been to most of the ADs in Orange County but have never gone to the one in Mission Viejo. I can’t wait to replenish the funds and be able to start hunting for a new watch in OC again.

Very Nice! That is my AD as well and purchase from that specific AD. I was actually looking at that SD43 several days ago. But I must say that LV is stunning! Who was your sales rep?
