How much & when to wind 183?

Apologies in advance if this is a bit of a dumb question...

I'm now the proud owner of a 183 which is the first manually wound watch I have owned. I know what it says in the manual but just curious, for all those 183 owners out there, "in reality" when and how much do you wind your watch (eg: every morning, 30 winds?)

Thanks in advance

30-40 winds should suffice, lets see what others say....

It will wind up to a certain limit then stop once fully charged, so you can't overwind it or continually turn without stop. Getting into a practice with a manual is also good, so if you like every morning or every evening you can wind it up to full, the reserve should allow you to forget now and again but a routine is good.

I wind it every morning until, as Argee says, it reaches the limit and will not wind anymore (without really trying to force it)

Ah, so you don't apply a pair of molegrips to get that extra half hour then?

What I do, I'm crazy, is I let a manual wind completely down. Then I count the number of "my turns" to the point where it stops. I say "my turns" b/c 20 of "my turns" may not equal 20 of "your turns". Then I figure that the watch lasts 2 days right, so divide by two?

Let's say it took me 32 turns to wind fully. I just quickly wind it 16 turns each day, never letting it max out so to speak. But to be honest I switch my watches so much in my rotation, this never lasts for more than 4 days.

Since they will go around 56 hours, I wind my manual ones every other day.
Sometimes I forget when I wound them, so I pick all the "ODD NUMBER" days of the month. This way it's hard to forget & they are always running.
Picked the odd days, as some months end in 31 or 29. If you picked even days, there are times when even days only happen ever 3rd day.

I should try this routine. My current one is Mon/Wed/Fri mornings, and Saturday evenings, but I often forget on Saturdays...

But the manual winds don't have a date function

So, 233 is really an automatic masquerading as manual wind!

It's the weird one, i love it but i do wonder why not have it as an auto, like the 270.
