What is the country of your favorite travels?
Just wanting to know the favorite country to which you have traveled abroad.
Mine would have to be Switzerland with Austria as a close second and Britain / London as my tertiary.

WOW very nice pictures!!
For me I have a soft spot for the Canary Islands, and Vienna stole a big piece of my heart. best,Herman I had to do a double take on the first picture .... there is not a single piece of paper/chewing gum to see on the street - nice! it is like Disney clean there. |

I live about 15miles south of Durham and its lovely cathedral, if you ever travel north on the train up the east coast main line into durham just before you get to Durham station look to your right and if you have a camera you may be able to get a great shot overlooking durham, with both the castle and cathedral in shot

I need to try Canada. I know it is beautiful and just "next door".
Japan is not on my short list, but would like to travel there at some point. The photos on Google Earth look astonishing. Anywhere in France that I have been is magical and Italy is a destination that is on our next trip to Europe. Thanks!!

My best trip is everytime I go to London. I've been there already 8 times and my fisrt trip was when I was 15 !! But everytime I see a different city - last August was a kid's trip, since I travelled with my two daughters - I see different things, eat at different restaurants....
Next trip is planned for the end of January...

Can't say I have a favourite however I can list some favourites:
- New Zealand: both the north and south islands... very different from each other but both equally beautiful - Italy: everywhere we've been has been spectacular for different reasons... Tuscany (Firenze and Siena), Rome, Como, Venice, Amalfi Coast. Will be heading more south next time we visit in a few years. Although I would love to travel the world, my priorities at this time would be to visit India, Japan, Switzerland and Holland. |

Beautiful shots, Richard. Paris was always a favorite of ours, but Israel must top my list. It is an awesome and almost painful beauty, and it is absolutely so steeped in history as to bring a person to tears. I will never get that country out of my head or my heart.

I agree! My lovely wife and I want to travel there in the worst way, but the "dangers" of the region are keeping us from doing so. I love Israel as a nation and pray for their safety often!

Every place has it's charm, but one of the most memorable vacations was the one to Cape Town in South Africa! Absolutely gorgeous!
It had such in impact on me (I was 18) that I decided to move there after school. I was almost set to go, found a job, and than I met my now (American) husband. It was about the same distance from my home to move to the States as it was to move to SA, so I decided to give this boy a chance! Worked out great so far! I also loved Switzerland, Germany, Spain (Barcelona), Mexico (Baja), and many parts here in the USA (WA, PA, CA, AZ)!

The places I remember most are the Table Mountain and Robben Island which are both very touristy of course, but you can't miss! The tour of the prison where Nelson Mandela was held so many years is unforgettable!
My favorite place was Boulder Beach, where you can swim with the penguins!
