How much does a non-clear serial number affect value on 6605?
Been looking at an 6605 recently and have now received photos from the seller. It seems like the serial number is nearly impossible to see under normal light. The seller said that some numbers are clearer then others and some numbers are more or less invisible. He tried to take pics of it but it’s hard to catch with a camera.
My question to you guys is how much you would say that it’s affecting the value on a YG 6605? |

Not much. It’s common on vintage Rolex for the serial to rub off from the bracelet end links.

Depends on the model. Definitely affects it more than "not much" in my opinion.
Personally, unless you are buying one as a beater, or, the price is less than the value of it's parts, I'd find a better example.

Yes, the price should be lower. 6605 is a relatively common model, so the price will not be hugely lower. If you search you can probably pick up a nice solid gold example for between 4 and 5K. With worn out number, I would guess 20% less.
... BUT you will have amazingly hard time selling the watch later on. To me 20% savings does not justify the difficulty of any future sale. |

It doesn’t seem like it’s stamped and the serial between the lugs is non visible or close to non-visible... |

The stamp on the bracelet clasp says 56. According to seller is the bracelet original to the watch...

I'm always low on cases like this. I would value it as parts where the case is worth the gold value. The most important thing to note is what Vlad said. Non-readable serial will make it very difficult to resell if you ever decide to go that path.
