Icon6 Rolex GMT Master ii Hour hand issue

Hello all,

I have a 2013 Rolex GMT ii and have been wearing it pretty much everyday since I owned it.

In the last couple of weeks when the clocks changed (daylight saving), I moved the hour hand one notch and didn't think anything of it until a few hours later I noticed the hour hand was still an err.. hour behind.

I tried moving it again but this time noticed that the hour hand didn't click into place - it was flowing smoothly, no usual clicking sounds. I pulled the crown out to the max to check if it moved with the minute hand, it did but was skipping in between.

Has anyone in here experienced a similar issue? If yes, how was it fixed and cost in UK? My warranty doesn't cover me so I hope its not costly.

Thanks in advance.

Though many Rolex owners are in denial, it seems to be a common problem with the 3186 movement. The bright side is, I hear it's so common that Rolex is repairing them at no cost. I have no personal experience (my GMT has been fine so far), but there is plenty of documentation addressing this issue. Good luck.

Rolex is really good about fixing known issues for free that are out of warranty. Kudos for them for standing by their product.

Thank you all! Really appreciate it.

I hope they honour it without warranty since its a known issue. Will be paying them a visit soon.

Also, would be helpful if anyone can point me to the similar issue on this forum.

I have read quite a number of owners had this problem with their 3186 movement. A spring was broken and the hour hand doesn't click anymore. Rolex did repair it for free though.
