Anti-Climactic?
After you purchased your first Rolex were you a little bit let down. I haven't bought my first yet but I ahve a feeling that it may be a bit of a let down after the shock wears off. I have found that in previous purchases that a lot of the fun is the researching and dreaming.
What say you? |

Say I ... "NO" I can't take my eyes off my Rolex... people think I'm either very strange or always late because I look at my watch so much.

I know exactly what you mean and have also experienced that, but this time no way! It actually gets more satisfying as time goes on.
I have only had one since September and not a touch of buyers remorse or let down of any kind. Just enjoy the heck out of it!!

No. Never had buyers regret about a Rolex. The same can't be said about my previous Tag, Audemars, and Patek. Rolex is king IMHO

It takes a long time before I can stop looking at my Rolexs. Even now after many years I still love the look of my Rolexs.

It gets better with time as you learn to appreciate the details of the watch. For example, the bracelet of a Rolex always amazes me. Compared to other less expensive watches, why can't those cheaper brands make a comparable bracelet for a lot less???
You will see its a wonderful feeling. The excitement of making an offer, coming to a deal, and the initial viewing is pretty exciting |

Invicta does make a solid feeling watch, I always keep a few of their pro divers around to give as gifts hey...for less than $100, why not. I hate shopping so everybody gets watches, bottles of Gentleman Jack, Johnnie Walker, Black, Gold or Blue (depending on friend) like it or not! That is the one thing I like about Rolex, they are a solid feeling watch, it feels durable, the movement is secure to the case, the crown and screw down assembly feels precise, thick crystals, and they really pioneered the use of Sapphire Crystals (1970 Quartz Date 5100) When you compare Rolex to other watches of the same era they just feel more durable and better constructed. That being said I will say in defense of other brands that they have made leaps and bounds in their rugged durability. Gone are acrylic crystals from most brands, gone are hollow chinsy bracelets that rip all the hair from your arm stretch and break, and thank God chrome cases have been replaced with Stainless Steel. Even Wal-Mart carries durable watches, with screw down crowns and backs in stainless steel cases with Sapphire or mineral crystals. |

Yep,
It has only occurred in the past year and it still doesn't sit well with me. It was when I purchased the white Milgauss !!! Do I like it, i'm not sure? Do i wear it, hardly ever? Was i stupid to buy it in the first place? I was just happy to get my hands on a, at the time anyway, sought after Rolex. Further proof of my stupidity arose recently,1 month ago, when an AD offerred me an even harder to get GV. I bought it, put it down, haven't worn it, sized it, nor undressed it since !!!!!

Bought mine 3 months ago, not a day has gone by where it hasn't been on my wrist. Love it, can't stop looking at it.

Going on 5 months with my first - zero regret. Selecting the right model for yourself is important. For me, making sure I got something that suited my lifestyle and that I knew would not be updated for many, many years was important. The GMTc was the perfect fit.

I owned two Rolexes up until about 9 months ago. I had a SS Sub Date, and a Blue TT Sub. I loved those watches, but I sold them to pay for a car that I had wanted for quite some time.(that's why I haven't posted on the forum for so long.)
I have to say that after owning them for a year and a half, I had the same feeling about them as I did when I walked out of the AD. Also, I deeply regret selling them to buy my car. I am now looking for ways to save up enough cash to buy a new Sub no date 14060m. I really doubt you will ever be let down over the purchase of a Rolex.

I've owned Rolexes for just over two years now and I still love mine as much as when I bought them.

Wanting one and looking at them doesn't even begin to compare to owning one. I've had mine since March and I still get a thrill when I clasp it to my wrist each morning.

I've experienced buyers remorse after a watch purchase. Those feelings were short lived though because I tend to think my purchases thru. However, I've never experienced buyers remorse when buying a Rolex or Tudor!

Totally agree Dan. Purchased a $500 Citizens awhile back and regretted it ever since. The Rolex is addicting and looking foward to the next one

My experiance was just the opposite of the OP question. I bought my first sub date six months ago, after owning many other brands, mainly to see what the fuss over Rolex was about. It sounds stupid, but my hesitant purchase turned into the best watch I have ever owned. I am now looking for my second and will probably unload serveral non-Rolex's because there will not be any wrist time available for them.

Not a let down but it wasn't an impulse buy either. I did upgrade after a year and a half from a 16710 to the newer 116710 for the improvements but no plans to sell or change again hopefully for many years.

The first Rolex is alway's the best feeling. You will never get that feeling again no matter how many more you buy.

Wrong. Best expenditure of funds I've ever made. You never regret pulling the trigger on a Rolex. Drill it, young man.
