Man, I'm starting to second guess myself...

I really thought I wanted a painted 111 or 1. I'm now thinking I want it just b/c it is more rare than the sammy. I'm going crazy. *sigh*

I can't ever sell this one as it is a wedding gift, so I want to make sure.

I guess I'll sleep on it some more.

Thanks for listening TRF!

1st instinct is always the best when you actually like the watch. Meaning when I first see a watch and know I really like it it is typically favorite for a long time. The problem is, that is usually a emotional response and then the brain kicks in and therefore doubt. Which leads to buying what you don't love and hence flipping. I do on occasion warm up to a watch which I really like as my taste evolve. If you buy the sandwich dial you will most likely have regret for not getting the painted.

Two thoughts....follow your gut, it is the right choice and two, like she would know if you swapped a sammy for a painted down the road...JK!

Painted vs sandwiched(Dont want to call it recessed, just does not sound right at the moment .. )

I have painteds and sandwiches. Both look nice.I dont think I really have a preferance for the one, over the other.Depends on design.

I think what you must do is to think which looks the best on a ss Luminor casing.Taking the black hands into consideration also.Which matches the black hands the best ?

I have found the painted markers to appear larger/bolder.

That's a tough one. You were confident witht he 111 painted. I think you should go with your gut also!

You will love whichever you choose for more than 1 reason!

Painted looks bold and stands out compared to sandwich. Sandwich has its own character.

Just choose what it appeals you the most, forget the "rarity" and other factors they are irrelevant in your decisions. Each one has own personal preferences obviously. Just go to AD and put painted and sandwich side by side and compare in different lighting conditions and decide.

My preference? none. I like both.

Or get both!

Soooooooo true.

She can't understand why I have a sub and a gmt. Thinks they are the same.

Back in the day when I was a Panerai nut, I was a sammy lover.
