Service intervals or none

Should I bother sending mine for regular service, and how often? Every x years? Costs?

Or I shouldn't bother with that and leave it ticking till end of time?

Depends what it is, if it's a complicated movement like the P2002 or P2004 then regular services are good, if it's the standard ETA auto movements then when it starts to lose or gain too much time and if it's the base ETA then again when it starts losing or gaining too much.

My PAM is away getting serviced at present, but it's got the El Primero movement which is a high beat chrono, so every 4-5 years it'll need a service, but other watches i've had survive a while without requiring a service, things like Rolex Subs with the 3135 movement are pretty good to go for 7 or so years, although by the book it should be every 5 years.

If an ETA or Unitas manual wind movement, I would just not service it until it needs it. You can also send to a independent watchmaker to service and save more than 50% of what Panerai charges. In house movement, I would send to the Panerai Service Center.

I called the after sales service center in Dallas today. I may send mine in soon to take it a part - clean - oil etc... The lady helping me said every 4 years on a manual watch. I may do it in a few months.
