Watch Insurance Claims Experience
I work in the insurance business, and THE most important customer experience is at the time of a claim, not the time of buying a policy. While there have been countless posts about what type of policies people have, I think it would be interesting to have a thread solely about peoples’ experience when they had a damage or loss claim on a watch. Tell us your stories, and what you learned for next time.

I have had two.
Many years ago, while with a rider on my HO, wife dropped her Rolex on tile floor from the kitchen counter accidentally. Demolished crystal, dial, hands, etc. Sent it to Rolex, provided carrier the estimate, was paid in full. A couple of years ago lost my Rolex with Jeweler’s Mutual. Within three weeks, had a brand new Rolex on my wrist. Even allowed me to pay difference and get a more expensive reference. I too am in the insurance industry and ironicallly, apropos to the subject at hand, in claims as a manager for 36 years. |

Good to know you had a good experience. I have jewelers mutual. Although I haven’t filed a claim they have been very helpful. I just spoke with them on the phone in great detail last week. I had many of my watches re-appraised at replacement value which for some is over MSRP. I wanted to confirm this would be ok worn their adjusters. They were great at explaining the process and what to expect. Also the answer was yes it’s ok for anyone who has thought about doing the same. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks 123Blueface, it sounds like you had a good experience with both your HO and JM. Any follow on problems like premium increases? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

With JM, life went on as usual. Same premium. Only increase since then has been due to the every year normal automatic increase in coverage for increased replacement cost adjustments. |
