Tophat Question

Anyone know why the Tudor Sub tophat acrylic is slightly smaller/less tall than the Rolex Sub tophat? My son has a 1680 from '71 and I have a 79090 or something along those lines Tudor Sub from '91. Thanks!

Obviously two ref. of crystals t127 vs t125 due to the ETA date placement being different.

Never noticed a difference in height, maybe the hand stack / clearance is not the same.
