Teens And Modified Cars.
Tired of hearing deafening, mobile Sub-woofers driving past, packed full of youngsters in hoods?
Sick of choking behind some 'Modified Motor' with exhausts like the Titanic's funnels, but which hasn't seen a service in the past three years? Angry because stupid plebs are smugly croozin past in hunks of junk garnished with the jewels of stupidity, when you know full well they haven't got a bloody clue how to tastefully and effectively modify a vehicle to actually improve it? Well help is at hand, because the Authorities have seen the light of day, and are discussing the outlawing of such Vehicles. Ivor Calley, the Irish junior minister for transport has been planning moves to ban tinted windows, loud exhausts and other illegal modifications, and CRUSHING any offending vehicles and their owners, although he didn't actually say whether the owners and their immediate friends would still be inside at the time, that was my bright idea. Max Power magazine is apparently suffering from falling circulation too, at it's 18-25 year old Male fan-base grows older, loses interest, and is slowly being strangled by high insurance premiums, and fast disappearing licences. Way bleeding Hay! Lets look at the REAL culprits however, the buggers who design and manufacture this atrocious sh!te, and the Retailers like Ripspeed who foist it on the gullible little buggers who also Smoke, Drink, Do drugs, and indulge up to the limit of their credit in every worthless vice going, yet fail to invest in the basic infrastructure of life. Such as a healthy diet and a place to live, preferring instead to inhabit their parents home like the remorseless parasitic bleeders they really are. Mr Rip himself appears to be doing very well on his immoral earnings, whilst driving a newish Porsche 911 with the personalised plate R1PPY adorning the very unmodified bodywork, leaving you in no doubt about his own aspirations in life. The fact is, no nice person drives a visibly modified car. Instead of INvisibly souping up something to go faster or handle and stop better, they stupidly announce to the world that they have just invalidated any shreds of insurance they ever had, along with even lower levels of road-holding, safety and legality and drive like bloody lunatics with little or no bloody road sense. I rest my case.

LOL! Gabriel, thanks for those. A lot of Asians seem overly fond of those monstrous "spoilers" on the trunk top...very repulsive if you ask me and really non-functional in those kind of cars!!
Some of the body-kits are okay, but the exaggerated ones can look pretty disgusting.

I saw one of those car shows a couple years ago. They tested the Mustang Cobra with and without the factory spoiler.
The car without , actually had a faster top speed that the one with the factory spoiler ( was about 8 mph diff) Some of those nasty ones you see on the kids cars are pretty useless. They don't create enough downforce until they are at some pretty decent speeds, and I'm pretty sure most of those cars never go that fast, and if they do, it's in a straight line.

Tell us how you really feel Padi.
I agree with you on all accounts except tinted windows, which provide privacy, aid in cooling, offer protection through the laminate, preserve the interior, and in my case (doctor's letter to prove it) helps my eyes because of photophobia. And tinted glass does look nice - do you think my car looks trashy?

I wholeheartedly disagree with the original post, but to each his own. A modified car, done correctly, is a beautiful thing (no matter who's driving).

Thats why I put a ferrari badge on my corsa it makes me look like a real man!
I knew someone who had a Saxo and spent 17k on doing it up with neons, spoilers, exhausts etc. bought it for £5000 what is the point. For 22k you could have a lovely little car that doesnt need any fiddling with.

A tricked out Prelude comes in and starts filling his tank, while eyeballing my car. He comes over, "What kind of car is that?" "Chevy Camaro" "Looks nice, what have you done to it?" "Nothing, it's stock." "How much was it?" "$33K, give or take" "I've got almost that much in this Prelude." He goes on to tell me about the turbo, exhaust, this and that, and how amazingly fast it is. "Pretty neat, my car's pretty fast too," I reply "It can't be nearly as fast as this." "I dunno about that... I'll bet I can beat you out on the freeway" The station was at the entrance to a freeway. "Interesting theory" I say "You wanna give it a try?" he asks. "Sure, let's stop and when you go, I'll go - first one to 100mph." It's late and the freeway is empty. We stop, and when he goes, I go. He's about a car-length ahead of me by the time I've let the clutch out. I roar by him and he's history. I hit 100-105 and ease back down to 80 or so; a moment later he goes by me, still flying, still probably thinking that he's won as he was still accelerating to 100! Moral of the story is that a fast stock car makes a lot more sense than a modified slower car!
