I Just Joined the Club with one of My Grails

Hi Everyone,

I have been lurking on this part of TRF for a long time because an AP Royal Oak has been one of my grail pieces growing up and I was finally able to join this great group with my first. I still can't believe I got it and it puts a smile on my face every time I put it on. It couldn't have come at a better time, while my Panerai is out to service.

I had been torn on which version I wanted, but at the end I went with the one that really fit me the best and had everything I wanted.

I always knew I wanted a blue dial. As much as I like the 15202 I have a larger wrist for one, I also like the sub second hand and quick date set as well which moved me into the 15400.

After waiting for a while I finally pulled the trigger and picked up this amazing beauty. Thanks to all the thoughtful discussion on here comparing different aspects of every watch even though I didn't join in.

IMO there is nothing better than a 41mm RO on the wrist.
Welcome to the club my friend!

Congrats! It looks amazing! I've had mine for 3 weeks and couldn't be happier! Mines the black dial though. Enjoy it!

Congratulations. The 15400ST is an easy choice if it wears better on your wrist than the Jumbo. It's still pretty thin, has the quick set date, the second hand, and the longer power reserve. The choice is tougher for those of us with approx. 6.75" wrists.

Yea, I have a little bit larger than a 7.5" so it made it a bit easier in that regards. Even if the 15202 is so much more iconic and closer to the original.
