The only place, I would ever wear that watch, is for a game at my old stomping grounds in Gainesville. Would match the school colors quite well.

Goliath watch

Ive hear the term used about a pocket watch I own, its a huge swiss made, crown wound, open faced pocket watch that would struggle to fit in a waist coat pocket, I believe it they were made as status symbol when being worn but they were really designed to be used as a travel or bedside clock, if I get chance I will post pictures of this and the chain it came with.

Along the same lines, here's a goliath. Its actually a Doxa Automobile from about 1910. I obtain these when I can (rarely) to engineer-fit into 1940 Battle of Britain Merlin engine piston/conrods as desk clocks. "AX 201", the first official Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, arguably the most valuable car in the world, has one of these. Lovely things...
