My First PAM! Pics galore!!!

As some of you know, I'm getting married in October of '09 and my fiance wanted to get me something special. She wanted to get a watch, but knows how particular I am about them. So we worked at it together picking things she likes and things I like. I was showing her Rolex and Panerai. At the time when we started looking I was in love with the Rads. Thought the Lums where too big. Turns out I was wrong! She helped me realize that. What a good lady!!!!! She had me try on Lums over and over b/c she really liked them on me. Being the way I am, I went into detailed analysis mode and a VERY, VERY, VERY long story short, ended up on the 111G. Wanted the G because it is painted dial and it has the larger crown guard than the E or F. One showed up on the web and I picked it up. Enough about all that crap, you guys want to see the watch right?????

Well, I got a big box in the mail today! Biggest box I have ever got for a watch!!!

Packaging looks really good. I love the overkill. This guy is just like me....packs too much!

Right off the top I find some sweet swag! Haven't had a chance to look at them at all, but what a great gesture by the seller!

I thought I remembered that straps were supposed to come with it. Better look through the packaging again...

Ahhhhh, there they are. Look pretty good. The OEM brown, an OEM Rubber, an OEM nato and an extra non-OEM sharky.

Well, let's go back to the box. 1st outer cardboard...

Next onto the darker box...

Finally, the third, beautiful wood box...

Let's just peek inside....Nice packaging!

What's under the covers. Ohhhhh Ahhhhh

Let's go straight to the backside!

Ohhhhhhh Myyyyyy Gooooooooooood!!!!!!!!!

Soooooooooooooooooo niiiiiiiiiiiiiice!!!!

Taking a little time to bask in the sunlight! Feeling all warm and fuzzy....

Nicely decorated movement. Old school!!!

Straight on shot! You can see all the way down to the escapement. Bingo!

Big fat crown guard. The G was the first year with this and the only 111 that is painted with it.

Feeling the love for the open 6'er!!!!!!

Well, I'm not supposed to wear it before the wedding. Ah, she's not looking. Don't tell ok???

Fits good! OEM!

Styling and profiling....

One more. *sigh*

It is going to kill me to not wear this thing....but it'll just make that day so much more special!

Thanks for looking guys!

Looks great. I to prefer the painted dial, that is why I like the Fiver.
Are you serious, you can't wear it until Oct 2009. That is just wrong wrong wrong.

Tell her it is NOT the wedding ring.
Maybe let her know that there will be so much going on at the time of the wedding, it is better to spread her love around starting NOW

Love the thumbnail buckle too.
Wear it in good healt, my friend

WooHoo!!!! Man what a beauty! The painted dial looks fantastic.

The biggest of congrats my friend. I know you were looking hard. What a great way to start off a relationship.

That one is so special there's no words for it.

Now,....about not wearing it before the wedding? Simple. Put her in the car and head for the Justice of the peace.

At first I thought that baseball cap was a little shirt for a dog or something.

Thanks all. She is seeing how much I love it....

She may reconsider...

but seriously, it means so much to me that she wanted me to have this that I would gladly wait until our day. Knowing that she so wanted me to get this watch and how important it is to her...... worth the wait. Thanks for all!!! Comments much appreciated!!!

Great score Mik.

I also agree that the painted dial is the best look for the 111.

Not new, it is used. It is a G serial which makes is a 2004.

I specifically wanted the G serial b/c it was a transitional model
1. It is the last painted dial 111. H-current are sammys (sandwhich dials).
2. It is the last of the Panerai Panerai Panerai decorated movements.
3. It has the current large crown guard. E-F (and A-D for the 001) had the smaller crown guard.

It is in PERFECT shape except for one small fleck of dust/dirt/something on the 3-4 second subdial. It is MUCH bigger in pics, but I plan on getting this watch serviced in the next year, so I'll have it cleaned up at the time unless it falls off before then in which case I'll service it immediately.
