The real color of the Pepsi bezel
The perceived color of the Pepsi bezel to the naked eye, as you'd already know, is very fickle in relation to the lighting condition. But this good review features some well-captured photos of the Pepsi bezel. I don't know how they could pull it off. I once saw my friend's WG Pepsi alfresco under some clouds, and it looked like that.
https://www.bexsonn.com/steel-rolex-...ster-ii-pepsi/ But, of course, it can often look more purplish, like this: |

Picture 1 looks amazing. Picture 2 looks fine. But some of the pictures on the latest Basel thread look absolutely horrific. I'm beginning to think that Picture 2 above is what the watch will tend to look like.

It can definitely look more to the pink and purple side on certain lighting conditions there is no dispute about that. But it still is a great watch. On darker conditions it can be like on picture 1 and on pitch black conditions you can only see the luminous parts.

White balance, color calibration of monitor, fluorescent lighting, how the image was processed . . .
Need to see one outside in the sunlight for myself, everything else is just a poor guess.

I just asked on another thread. Isn't this new GMTs bezel the same as the WG GMTs bezel ??

you can always go look at a WG BLRO. All of this "what it looks like IRL" is easily solved. I like it.

Every other pic I’ve seen it looks purple and having seen the WG GMT in the metal a few times it looked purple in the real too.
So I’d say it’s more a case of they captured what it should look like rather than they’ve captured the real look. Anyone that says it’s not purple (as I’m sure they will) have a look at a pic of one next to a BLNR and you’ll see. Personally I think the Pepsi nickname should be reserved for the older references, and I propose we come up with a more suitable nickname. Suggestions welcome, I’ll start... The Rolex GMT ‘Fedex Freight’ The Rolex ‘Natwest’ But then I hate the ceramic bezels, apart from the plastic look to them (which I get is personal) you’ve got the fact they won’t age with the rest of the Watch meaning they’ll look even more odd in years to come. Ps, don’t get your knickers in a twist, just a bit of fun. |

⬆️⬆️⬆️ Exactly! Most colors represented in online pics DO resemble the bezel colors “at some point” DEPENDING ON THE LIGHT CONDITIONS. It changes all the time..... whether your inside, outside, soft light, LED lights, etc.....

Separate issue, but is the jubilee bracelet on the new Pepsi wider than the oyster bracelet on the BLNR? The proportions look better on the Pepsi, but maybe that's due to the lug width.

Same colors as the WG. Nothing new as far as the colors go. I love it in all lighting. True to it's roots.

No. The ss bezel is cheaper to get than the wg bezel. The bezel colors are highly dependent on lighting. On a sunny day the red can look like a washed out pink. On a cloudy day, the bezel would even please the aluminum bezel purists. And yes the blue can look purplish and the red is more of a cranberry at times. But that’s the fun of the bezel- the colors are constantly changing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

First image vs. second image is simply: WB (white balance).
Many of the indoor images of the Pepsi are probably shot with auto WB, and some of the images tend to get a bit to warm and therefore, the blue looks more purple than IRL. The difference in WB is quite evident in the images shown in OP's post. :) -> Just look at the white portion of the "6" in the insert. In first image it is white and in the second image it is yellow... |

I must admit the "color controversy" threads about the Pepsi Ceramic I have read on this forum must be mostly started by people who do not own a 16710 ( or earlier ) Pepsi. I do, and the beauty of those bezels is how the blue and the red changes according to the light. Sometime it feels like it was intended, blue and red, sometime the red turns to a pink-red and sometime the blue is more fuchsia /violet than blue. Actually in most instances those are the colors the aluminum Pepsi bezel tend to fade/age to. I have the feeling it is the same, and should be, for the ceramic model.

If you want to see the true color of the Pepsi Bezel just look below. We've been enjoying the Pepsi bezel color since 2014 when it was introduced at Basel 2014.
It's not NEW it's been around for years.... https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...ghlight=116719 |

The white gold model bezel appears to me to be pink and purple. Do not know how the steel will look but I fear it will be similar.
