How to Use the Rolex Skydweller (video)

Picked up a "real" camera a few months ago and thought it would be cool to start making some watch videos. Threw together a quick video on the skydwellers functions, and what each position on the ring command bezel does. very basic, targeted for the nonWIS I guess. No script so some ums and stutters but gotta start somewhere.

Great video! Thanks! I've always wondered exactly how the SD worked, and how the settings are set. Great seeing it in action. What an amazing piece of engineering this model is....As well as a beautiful piece of art! In the future if my budget allows it, I am definitely going to buy one someday!

I'm trying to decide which I'd prefer this or the new GMT to indulge my "time zone" urges... As neither are available I'm not torn on a decision, just waiting to see which arrives


I'm a new pilot, so I'd use the GMT wheel as UTC, then the hands as UK, most likely just use the auto correct in my mobile for local, then ive got a system I trust with no chance of confusion

I got the SkyD SS. Was a bit to big for me (my wrist is 7.5 inches). Plus a bit too thick and the GMT function wasn't useful on it as such. The annual calendar is neat though. It is dressier for sure.

I got the BLNR and prefer it over the SkyD for time zone. Plus the rotating dial so much better.

But two different watches. For GMT function, GMT II, simple as that.

Nice video. It is tough to make review videos. Keep doing it and will get better at it.

Maybe keep more distance between the watch and the camera. A script certainly helps, so does voice-overs. Just some feedback. If you plan to do this often. Maybe do something different and make it interesting.

I got some gear too. But for different purpose..will try a review video for sure.

It is easy as pie to use the Sky D. Used it on a cross country trip last week and thoroughly enjoyed having it on my wrist!!!

You know what happens when I see the 2 tones available for 15k?
I die inside just a little.
Tomorrow I'm going to walk into Rolex on 5th ave and ask them if they have it and let them know I intend to buy it if they do.

I totally get not wanting to pay more than you have to as far as MSRP, but in my opinion this should have been an 18-20k msrp watch. the premium right now for the blue dial is accurate as to what it shouldve been from the factory.

No I'm just saying that if something like a YM2 commands an 18k retail, this watch should be up there too. The daytona i think is accurately priced for a SS chrono, but the skyd with its complications and gold bezel could probably be priced a bit higher, thats all :)
