Fake deep blue!

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-Mens-...5.c10#viTabs_0

I know we have spoken about this company. How do they get away selling this on ebay? There is no such thing as a custom dial!!!!! If Rolex doesn't make it and someone puts the name Rolex is that not a fake or forgery? This company makes a lot of "Custom" dials.

I know rolex is crazy with their rules. If you put diamonds on a bezel or of you bling out your real dial they still won't work on it but to make a dial put rolex name on it is just like taking a pair of shoes and putting Nike on it.

They’re clearly stating in the listing that the dial and bezel insert are not original but “aftermarket”, that’s how they’re getting away with it I assume.

Yea I get it. I have used aftermarket parts in repairs for jewelry shops and pawn shops. But still never a part that said ROLEX on it. There are tons of aftermarket parts for movements and crystals and hands. I do know Rolex rules are everything not Rolex made is considered fake. But legally are they allowed too sale it and just say AFTERMARKET?

You chose a relatively tame one. This guy is the equivalent of a used car dealer making cut 'n shut cars.

Here are some more of his more interesting creations:

The Roulette Rolex "own this for a fraction of a price" (what ever that means) only $10k

He also has a Hulk. A bargain at $15k

Still waiting on the AD to call you to pick up your new CHNR? Wait no longer, he has one in stock for only $10k

How about an 116520 for only $16k?

When you notice your friends laughing at you (and they will), you can restore the watch to its original state for a measly $4k

As for this? Words escape me.

I had to stop before I lost my breakfast. He has 724 watches listed, each more hideous than the last, but he clearly states "custom dial and bezel" (among others) so as laughable as these are, he's disclosing the mods and ebay doesn't have a problem with that.

This is a case of buyer beware. There are a few guys doing this on ebay. They butcher a watch, and then sell the genuine parts they pull off them separately.

Agree, I rescind my post, the dial is branded as Rolex when it isn’t a Rolex dial. This makes the dial at least a fake.

Its fake by every definition of the law.

I personally do not report as he is not trying to dupe or cheat anyone.

If Rolex have not the inclination to defend their trade mark, neither do I

Indeed, he has gone over the line (legally) - but he is not directly scamming people, from what I can see?

eBay’s rules also include trademark infringement. I’d suggest he’s crossed that line.

But “customizing” or “refinishing” a dial may give him enough cover to beat that rap.

You're not going to convince ebay that a guy with 724 high dollar listings is doing anything wrong.

I just wonder if he actually sells any of these creations.

Sad but true. Last time I got ripped off on ebay was a rolex 3135 and it came from South Korea. It was not in working condition as stated. I needed the movement and I serviced it replacing the part. I requested for the part cost back. It was freaking $60 bucks. The guy refused and told me to send it back! Not after I serviced it. So I gave him bad feedback but since he had 6000 feedback and I only had 1200 some how he got it removed! When I found out they cant reverse their reversal. It was a joke as is ebay. Lots of fake parts popping up.

I reported it with some comments to Ebay about aftermarket parts that are branded Rolex.
Lets see what happens.

Must be a profitable scam. Buy a 116610 " off the street" from an individual for about $6k. Sell the bezel and dial for about $2k. Add a counterfeit "aftermarket" dial and bezel that costs about $20 Sell watch for $10k and make $6k profit.

For the dial, its still copyright/trademenk infringement i would think if they made it themselves and painted trademarked stuff on it. The bezel, fine. Its aftermarket and doesnt have a logo. IMO thats when a mod no longer is still a mod.
