box and "papers" with Rolex
noobie here -- when a seller is offering box and papers with a used timepiece for sale, what exactly is included in the "papers"?

It’s usually a warranty card with model, serial numbers etc.

warranty card stamped w AD name, buyer name and purchase date. it signifies when the warranty period starts. also can mean the booklets and stuff

My new 116610 came with a manual, warranty manual, warranty card & holder, and two hang tags. Keep doing a little research, and you'll get the hang of what "papers" are, and what to ask a seller about them when buying. Some come with receipts and service records.

"papers" usually means all the papers including the original warranty cards/peppers that originally came with the watch. It is a very good thing to have and make the watch you buy more valuable.

Box and papers aren't, by any means, a guarantee that the watch is authentic. Typically they add some value to a used purchase because it's a complete set, rather than just getting the watch itself.
Some people value having the extras that originally came with the watch, but many don't care to pay extra for something that they're going to throw in a closet and never look at. To each his own. |

OP you definitely want to get these, especially on any modern piece. I highly recommend buying from an AD or a TS or perhaps face to face
