Explorer ii 216570 for 16600 sea dweller?

Howdy!

I have only one Rolex and it’s a black 216570 from 2016. Should I trade it for a 2000 16600 sea dweller?

Thanks!

Nope keep it and add the sea dweller if you must. But no to the trade the Exp II is a keeper.

Why do you want to trade? Going from new gen to old gen, exp to diver, 42mm to 40mm.. what attracts you?

Probably being that it’s a classic Rolex diver as I’ve never owned one. I also like the non cyclops look and the thick case.

I understand you. Just scratched that itch myself but got the 116600.

If you can only have one I’d say do it and maybe add a 16570 polar later.

This is a hard one for me.

The only Rolex I wish I'd never let go is my old 2006 16600. Loved that watch, but was dazzled by rose gold and black ceramic. I'll know better next time.

I also really like the black dialed 216570.

Together they would make a fantastic 2 watch collection. The absolute pinnacle of the "classic" divers and a fantastic modern larger 2nd time zone Rolex. Both watches that are all about the function.

So, no. Don't trade. Sell a kidney and add the 16600

I am going against the grain and say make the trade if the 16600 is in good condition, with papers and accessories, serviced history within the last 5 years

I own both. The 16600 has been in the collection for a while and the 216570 Polar is a recent addition. Love them both and can't see a reason for letting either of them go.

If the 16600 is a compete set in great condition I would consider the trade. The 216570 should be easier to add back to the collection later...

It’s not in great condition nor is it a complete kit. I will pass but think I might entertain one from someone like hq Milton if it was in good shape.

Just got a polar Exp ii. I don't think I'd be able to let it go for the SD.

You may find the SD very small on the wrist if you’re now used to the Exp. I wouldn’t do that trade personally.

It's all about personal taste so do what makes you happy. I have a new Explorer 11 and LOVE IT!!! I would not flip it for a Sea Dweller.
