What other watches do you own?

Are you a boater that will use the features of it?

Its a beautiful and amazing watch, I know for sure at least one member here has it and is very happy!

I think if you are a collector who already has a nice variety of high end pieces or you are someone who races and will truly uses the features its a GREAT watch to own!!

I have to admit, That IS a beauty in YG. By the way, are the buttons unscrewed or are they different from the other chrono models?

I have to say I'm a fan of this watch in WG, and it's a phenomenally well built watch. If you want a watch which really is exclusive, this is one of the better Rolexes for the job.

Is the center hand a "Jumping hand"
does it snap back after it hits 10?
or does it count down backwards?

My friend has a Harry Winston watch where
they timer hand JUMPS back and thats really
unique!

I've only ever played with the WG YMII. I like it better than the YG.

Interestingly why the WG is more than the YG. I believe here in Canada, the WG is $50,000 and the YG is $40,000.

One things for sure, if you wear either of them, people are going to notice and ask questions.

There's so much activity on the dial of that watch.

That's exactly my question... they keep telling me if I don't screw in the buttons on my Daytona and it gets wet, the watch will explode and end mankind's hope for all of eternity. Ok, maybe I'm exagerating but you get my point, how can the chronograph maintain its water-tight integrity without the screw down?

My only advice is that if you like it and have the money, then go for it. It's a handsome watch, either in YG or platinum and I would buy one if I could afford it.

One of the best made Rolexes out there today, with (currently) their most complicated movement. The version in Yellow Gold really looks awesome. I wouldn't hesitate in getting one.

By the way, great looking Yacht II's mic6 and D/herfdude. Thanks for sharing.

I have handled mic6's watch it is not anything important really!!
In fact they are great watches and the ceramic blue bezel on them is also great. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea but no reason to put them down because you dislike them or you can't afford them! Peace!

I have had this watch on my wrist and it is certainly a chunk of gold.

It made my GMTc 18ct feel light after I swapped it back.

Anyway, after all that, I bought 2 watches....the Daytona and a Millgauss. I feel pretty lucky....maybe I should try Vegas next ;-)

For all of us YachtMaster owners thanks for the "class" responses.........

While I don't necessarily like all Rolex models I certainly don't feel the need to bash anyone else's Rolex choices (seems pretty "low class" to me).

Im not a huge fan of the YG version (if the blue was more Navy Blue, that might be a different story) but the WG version? Stunning. Absolutely Gorgeous. But its your watch, your money, and your arm. Dont listen to what these other tossers are saying! Buy what you like!

I am a YM II fan herfdude, it ooze's class and sophistication to me, its not in my price range or else there would be one in my collection. let me ask you though, my perception is that it's more of a single use watch, rather then an every day wearer. I mean it certainly could be worn every day without an issue but it does seem to advertize "sailor" and since that is it's primary function do you wear it to the office/business meetings. I'm sure that's far from true but that is my perception

I wear it as a dress watch as well as business meetings or special occassions.

My every day watch is an SS Daytona with a MOP and diamond dial

Don't be fooled by the pics. I tried on a white gold YMII & it is FANTASTIC in the flesh. It's quite heavy though.

I'll say it again- the new Rolex models aren't photogenic. The DS is the same. The writing on top of the chapter ring is barely noticeable in real life.

Let's not forget the YM II case might be the new case for the Daytona...

Well this Thread is getting a little out of control.

It is the same thing as saying is that your COBRA in the avator. What a P.O.S arent they associated with ford. What ediot would want one of those.

I can think something like that all day long . Would i say it mmmmmm NO
What would be the point for me to feal superior.

Im not a huge fan of the YM2 im also not a huge fan of the Daytona either
Not because i think they are sub par pieces, just not my taste.

I agree it looks better in the flesh but not for me. Bought PAM 289 instead. The dial just has to much clutter and numbers everywhere. If I used the functions it would be a different story but when I have to look at a watch for a while to figure out what time it is then it fails its primary function. I would like to see WG sub with blue bezel.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on any watch. If one doesn't like something that's ok but don't knock it. I tried a YG YM ll on a couple weeks ago, I don't care what anyone thinks, it's awesome.

Is it me or do most threads about the YM degenerate into insults?

Not my cup of tea but if you like it that's great!
