Being a SS Daytona owner, I would hate to see this because it is the one watch I own that is worth more than I paid for it.
I have read one account on TZ recently that someone got a SS Daytona at a discount. I have unofficially heard of a few other instances.

I'm going to need a little more than that to believe, though it's not too far fetched with the economy and all

Seems a bit optimistic. Rolex isn't exactly targeting a demographic that has too many money problems regardless of the economy. They might be making less but they're not doing without.

Rolex wanted to eliminate gray market/flippers by raising price two times in one year.
Now the gray market buyers are backing off Daytona purchases, economy not helping- people passing on SS Daytona's.
Unfortunately things will get a bit worse before the economy takes a turn.

Make it 10% and I might even get one, unless Rolex decide on another price hike in the meantime.

There are discounts to be found on the SS Daytona IF you look VERY hard
but nothing huge.

I had an AD call me and offer me 5% off if I paid cash BUT they would not ship
out of state to save me sales tax so.....

I was at my AD Saturday and looked at a SS Daytona. Right off the bat the store manager told me she had been approved to work on the prices for Rolex and that she could at least cover the sales tax. In Tennessee, that's 9.5% where the AD is.

My cousins, best friend's, girl friend's, second bride's maid, heard through the bellman at the hotel, while on their honeymoon, that in-deed Rolex was discontinuing this model.
Apparantly he had heard this from the pool boy, who overheard two gentlemen talking at the pool bar.
So , it has to be true.

I understand and agree there will likely be discounts on almost all of the Rolex watches if AD inventories continue to balloon .....

Good one, I think. Rolexgiant said discounted, not discontinued. LOL.

I don't see why any AD would discount the one model that they have a chance to sell for list. Even if it actually makes it to their showcase and sit's for a little while, they would still be better off as they have no problem sitting on Gold Daytona and Day Dates for long periods of time (even though they tie up more inventory value and are available at healthy discounts even in good times). I would think that you will see discount values going up on harder selling models as a better way to move inventory for an AD.
Just my opinion though....I've been wrong many times before....:)

They aint gonna discount it. In the UK they are still ultra rare and costing way over msrp at grey dealers.

When your US grey dealers realise this, they'll be flogging em to Europe.

There are some good deals in the grey market right now, there are a few in the mid 8K range with no tax...not bad if you ask me!
