My first Vintage Rolex DateJust 1601 Crown Issue
Greetings Everyone!!
I purchased my first vintage DateJust Rolex 1601. I am trying to set date/time, and everywhere in google says crown can extends 3 times, but mine only does 2 times (unscrew and one more extend). I set up date my moving hour hands passing midnight. Is it normal for only 2 extends of crown ? Also, my crown does nt closed completely. I can see one thread cleary after tightening the crown. Its a vintage 1970 so age has caused that ? Thank you, Nali |

My 1601 from 1970 has only 2 positions, 1 is screwed out and 2nd pulled out to set time. Non hacking movement(second hand doesn’t stop). And no quickset date feature, need to adjust hour hand to change the date

Sounds normal, two positions, wind and set. If the crown touches the case your gaskets have become compressed and should be replaced.
