1680 Submariner
http://cgi.ebay.com/ROLEX-SUBMARINER...1%7C240%3A1318
Here is a guy selling a 100% original 1680 Submariner with a 100% original fake band. Watchout for this one shoppers!!! The seller states the band is from another watch and is quite possibly a replacement band. I believe replacement band is a deceptive way of saying counterfeit. Or is he trying to imply it is a newer Rolex replacement band? I love how these guys parse words. If the seller doesn't know the band is fake, he obviously knows little about Rolexes and definately shouldn't be hyping the watch as 100% original. And, in case you're wondering, it's another power seller on ebay. Another example of how the power seller status means nothing more than tenure on ebay. Here are pics of the watch and band. This is typical of the solid end link counterfeit bands. The clasp numbers are wrong along with the typical counterfeit coronet.

The seller states this is a 1973, so I would expect it to be a red sub. Dial replacement maybe? The tritium markers look very white. My own red sub is a 1974.

This was the seller's response to me when I asked him if he knew this band was counterfeit:
Hi ---, We do not deal with counterfeit, please refer to my feedback! Thank you I guess he is mistaken, or just plain full of himself. The unbelievable is believable.

Power seller on ebay is nothing more than a symbol beside your name meaning you have a certain amount of sales per month to make. Ebay asked me to be a power seller. I asked what was my benefit from doing it. Nothing more than I was already getting with the exception of a symbol by my id and I was required to sell xx amount of dollars per month.
I told them I already had a boss named "da wife" But then again I buy and sell with one id, even for the kids. I do know a few who buy lowwwww with one id, clean it up, say it has been serviced LMAO (knowing them) and jacking the price up 1000-2500 above what they paid for it. I am all for someone making a living but some of the crap going on ebay is blind......... or acts blind is incredible. But in turn there are some truly great power sellers too. And I reckon I'd better shut up:) |
