Incoming!!
After a week of trying to get the Black Bay, and going to the first AD and rejecting the watch because it was scratched, I finally got my new Black Bay today! I couldn’t be happier! I love the rose gold markers and hands, the bezel action is the best I’ve felt, and the bracelet fits perfectly. I even like the rivets, as they are much more subdued in person.
I was originally looking to buy the new Seamaster Professional, but after seeing the BB I’m person and trying it on, I knew I should just go ahead and buy the BB without waiting to see the new Seamaster. I also tried on a Pelagos, and loved the fully lumed bezel, but decided that I really loved the rose gold markers and hands. Just by looking at the pictures I thought the faux gilt dial might be cheesy, but after seeing it in person it’s just so good looking. More pics and updates to come! |

Cool. Looks like a fine piece. I'm not a Tudor man but after seeing some of the newer references, well, I'm definitely giving these more attention. I did not know they are certified chronometers. An important feature in my opinion. Wear it in good health.

Enjoy! So the rumors, reported here on TRF by some folks, that the 58 was being delayed until the fall are proven wrong. Glad to know that! Were you on a waiting list?

This is the Black Bay Heritage. I did ask about the BB 58 and was told watches should start coming in any day now. Same with the BB GMT. The lists for either of the watches isn’t long though and they expect orders to be fulfilled pretty quickly.

I started a new thread, but does anyone in this thread know why in 48 hours I’ve lost 12 seconds? I know these watches are COSC certified.

Coming up on two weeks now and still very happy. This is my first watch with a dive bezel and although I never dive, it’s just so useful. The two uses that have been the most useful are timing different things at work (billing by the minute), and cooking. I love how the first 15 minutes have the minute markers, which is perfect for timing pasta, when to flip foods, and when to check the oven.
The other thing I love is the bracelet. I was worried that it didn’t have Glidelock or Easylink, but the few times I’ve had to adjust, the micro adjust holes on the outside of the clasp are so simple to adjust with a toothpick. I also think the wider bracelet is more comfortable than Rolex’s standard 20 mm width. Now that I realized that I really love dive watches, I think that I really need to get a SubC! I always thought that everyone had one so I’d get something else, but I get it now. I think there’s enough of a difference that a black SubC wouldn’t be identical to my BB. The BB has a matte black bezel, gilt looking dial and rose gold hands, while the SubC has a bright shiny bezel, shiny dial, and bright white gold hands. I know that SS sports models are non existent, so is there a waitlist for subs? |
