Explorer II White Dial

The postman delivered my Christmas present early today.

Picked up an "A" serial Explorer II with NON SEL and "SWISS" marked dial.

Very comfortable and I can's stop staring at the white dial...just beautiful.

Sorry for the quick and dirties camera's acting up...

Haul that Explorer out of the case and onto YOUR WRIST!! Let's see a wrist shot! Then we know your are grinnin' ear to ear! If you shoot pics with a mirror in the background, make sure your pants are on first.

I have an ignorant question for you veterans. Is it possible to perfectly synchronize the 12 hour and 24 hour hand to my local time or is it just going to be close. Thanks!

Sure... if I've understood you correctly, just set the 12 hr hand to (for example) 2 pm and the 24 hr hand to 14 on the bezel. This is how I leave mine unless I'm deliberately tracking another time zone.
In fact the earlier Exp IIs were permanently set this way, the idea being that the 24 hr hand was a "day/night indicator" (for cave explorers).

Cheers

I like this idea. Have mine set to GMT now, but not planning on traveling anytime soon. Think I'll switch to this way.

The advantage of this setting is that if the watch stops (after not being worn for a while), you can tell at a glance whether it stopped in the AM or PM. This makes it easy to reset the date correctly.

Cheers
