DD40 yellow gold—- black stick dial.

Hardly see this dial?? And by the way looks very sharp in person. Any opinions?

Haven't seen this config myself, though I'm sure it's all class. Personally, sunburst or bust. Champagne preferably.

Just got this beauty last week. The black dial pops more against the yellow gold!

Great combo - I opted for the 36mm version.....

While I agree the DD40 is a winner I chose a similar style in 36mm. Love the contrast of the black and gold.

In my humble opinion is by far the best looking Day Date Rolex has and I tried them all before ordering this one. Here is mine.

Beautiful. And probably the easiest dial to read.

A black dial on YG looks great. I wish Rolex made the black dial with the deconstructed roman numerals

Black on gold is always incredible. This particular combo is one of my favorites for the DD40.

Love this combo!! But... still trying to figure out if the black dial makes the watch more sporty or dressy??

Sporty IMO. A YG DD with champagne dial or diamonds is dressy.

I think the silver is more sporty than the black.

As a big fan of sporty watches for a DD I´d still pick the black one over the silver one.

I personally prefer white or champagne, however the black is certainly a nice contrast and far more unique than the previously mentioned options.

I have to go back to the AD and see how readable and clear the silver motif dial is. I know the black dial will NEVER fail my eyes! LOL.

YG DD with black batten dial is my favourite as well, can't beat it, so classy IMHO.

Although, if in a position to buy one, I'd possibly go for the white dial now due to ageing eyesight.
