I recently got a daytona ss. The second hand of the chrono is about 1/5 of a second off the 12 o'clock position. Is this normal or is this something I should have re-aligned?

Seems normal. Well, maybe not normal, but common. I had three SS Daytonas and currently have one. I remember a few of them being slightly off

I'm sure it can be corrected by Rolex. If it doesn't bother you wait until the first service and mention it then.

Mine splits the crown perfectly - get it sorted.

I have tried resetting it quite a few times. It always goes back to this position.

It's semi-normal....not worth a trip back to the RSC though.

I've owned over a dozen SS Daytona's and can only recall ONE being perfectly centered! Believe me, it's the first thing I check when I get one. I've grown to live with it and accept it but if it REALLY bugs you then you must send it in and they can fix it.

I agree - the fact that you've asked the question indicates to me that it bugs you, so I'd say better to have it properly realigned.

JJ, if you walked into an AD and had a choice of 4 or 5 white SS Daytonas then yes, scope each one and make sure the one you get is perfect but to be fair this is not a common occurrence.

Have to agree but let AD know of the slight problem, its far better to wait until first service is due, pointless cracking open the case for something so minor IMHO.

Leave the chrono hand running when you wear it. Then it won't matter a bit.
