When I was off to work, I noticed my watch was at 4pm..when It was 8.50am at my count

So I just bought this 1 year mint black bay 41 and the time was way off today. It only happened once so far. Could it be that I only wear it from 9am-10am, 12pm-2pm and 6-7pm daily? Total that’s around 4 hours..btw I don’t wear it when I work at my desk.

This still has one year warranty, should I bring it to rsc

No.
Wind it 40 turns, adjust the time, and see at the end of the day and tomorrow.
If it still stops, claim warranty.
If its good, then it means you need to wear it more, or wind it every 1-2 days

Yes that’s most likely the problem. Try manually winding it to a full wind...or you know...wear it all day!

Apologies for stating the obvious, but it sounds like the power reserve ran down. Was it stopped when you put it on this morning, and did you note what time it was set to? If you didnt happen to notice, it is very possible that it was stopped, and after you put it on the wrist and moved around a bit it started back up. Four hours a day would not be sufficient enough to keep it fully wound at all times, so it only makes sense that the power reserve would eventually run out with your wearing habits.

Also curious how you know that the watch was displaying the time as 4pm, and not 4am (it could have stopped at 4am or earlier the night before.)

If my thoughts are correct, simply manually winding the crown, and resetting to the correct time should remedy your problem.

Yeah wear it all day. Like what is the point of having such a quality timepiece when it’s only to be worn for bits and pieces lol

It could be 4am too! I didn’t think of that. Thanks for the advice everyone

My friend was warning me about desk scratches on the bracelet. Lol so I don’t wear it when I am doing work on the desk

Scratches are inevitable, and it is just as easy to consciously avoid scratching it at your desk as it is to accidentally scratch it walking down the street, opening a door, or engaging in any other daily activity. Basically what I'm saying is dont worry about scratching your watch, and start enjoying it. It is impossible to do both.

Haha that's hilarious. Don't worry so much about it, the risk of losing it or dropping it while removing it/putting it on outweighs the inevitable scratches.

I agree with other posts, the power reserve went down.

On a side note, if those are the hrs you are not at your desk you work some strange hours.

Automatic watches either need activity to move the autowinder pendulum or winding to keep wound. Remove both of these and they will stop. Make certain to keep the power reserve up. Rolex watches can not be over wound so don't worry about that.

Am i the only one wondering what you do between the hours of 11-noon and 2-6pm? This seems like way too much work. Slap it on, try not to bang it into door jams or metal objects, enjoy life. I picked up a scratch on one of the lugs on my explorer this weekend. 2 days old and i reached into a yeti cooler bag and it banged against the zipper pulling out a beer. It’s all good! I don’t love marking up a new watchbut that’s the life of wearing a nice watch. Enjoy it my man.
