Love my Daytona...but legibility has never been its strong point. I feel sorry for any driver trying to mark time on the tiny subdials. Still...

I think telling time on the white dial is easier than the black.

I wouldn’t say that the Daytona is the most legible Rolex out there but I don’t think it’s too bad

I’ve been telling Rolex to make it 42mm, ceramic and a blue dial option for years!!

They listened to me on the ceramic bit!!

Well I think they listened

I really hope they don’t make it larger. I feel like we are already at or near the zenith of the large watch era.

It’s legible enough now but they could maybe increase it to be a true 40mm or even maybe 41mm giving more space for larger sub dials.
Just my opinion. I understand that the hardcore Daytona fans think it’s just perfect the way it is but I see space for improvement.
Having said that though I really don’t believe that the Daytona would get any changes for the foreseeable future.

Chronos aren't as instantly legible as a Diver. Except maybe the Tudor chrono but I don't see much hope for you if you're seriously unable to read a Daytona.

No problem reading the time on my white 116500. Try a Speedy Pro.

Speedy pro is very legible.

Question for those who have both Daytona SS models. Is it true the white is more legible than the black?

I have both and it depends on the lighting.

Each comes with both a bracelet, and an OysterFlex rubber strap in the box.

The Daytona has always had a slight legibility problem. It plays with angles a lot. This is the reason I edge toward the white dial.

I do agree that in general it is fairly difficult to read the time at a quick glance. This is something I feel particularly strong about, that you should be able to read the time pretty quickly when you look at your watch. That, in combination of it being a small 40mm, is why I’ll likely never own one.
