Whats difference between scratch on glass vs Crystal?

Looking at a listing for a watch that says watch is Very Condition but has a scratch on the glass but the crystal is clean.

I feel like an idiot, what glass? I thought there was no glass just Crystal on rolex. (It's a fairly new watch not 80s or anything)

Interesting.

I thought the crystal was the “glass.”

I wonder if the seller meant something else...

Like “a scratch on the crystal but the dial is clean” or something like that

Could be a scratch on an exhibition case back.

Usually they are one and the same. Ask for pictures that show the scratch.

Should be obvious from the pics. If there's no picture of the scratch, that's a terrible watch listing and I'd avoid the seller.

Sapphire is a crystal, but the crystal on a watch is often called the "glass".

I have no idea what the ad is trying to say.

Maybe there’s a scratch on the display case
