A Week with a Datejust 41

Last Saturday, I purchased a new Datejust 41 (picture attached). It replaced a similar Datejust which I had purchased in 2005. The major catalyst for getting this new watch was its incredible accuracy; I also was finding my old Datejust was looking a bit small at 36mm. Here are my observations:

1. Its accuracy is astonishing. I set it on July 28th using the time display on Watchville. This morning (nearly eight days later), it was running a total of 10 seconds fast -- gaining, therefore, merely a little over 1 second per day!

2. The larger size not only looks more contemporary, it also provides the space on the dial for larger markers to be filled with Chromalight. As a consequence, this watch can be read easily all night long, whereas my previous Datejust became challenging to read by the morning hours before sunup.

3. The new clasp on the Jubilee bracelet enables taking the watch off easy to do as well as looks very modern. It is simply superior to the tiny crown which functioned as the clasp release on my previous watch.

4. The finishing of the watch is lovely in every respect. The Everose/steel contrast, particularly along with the bezel and the Sunburst face on the dial, works together beautifully, and the bracelet is extremely comfortable, too.

Overall, this new Datejust 41 is a marvelous watch. I just wish it wasn't so expensive so that more people could experience the pleasure of owning one.

Have the Datejust 41 w/smooth bezel, white face with tick markers and RR tracks. Love this watch and glad you are a satisfied DJ 41 owner as well. Congratulations.
