DD40.. Gift ideas..
I am buying a gift for my Husband..
Can’t decide which DD40 to buy him this time.. So far, he own.. (some background) DD2 PT Ice Blue Diamond Roman Dial x2 DD2 PT Black-Out Arabic Concentric Dial DD2 PT Ice Blue Roman Dial DD40 WG 60th Anniversary Olive Green Dial A dozen of DDs 36mm (in PT, WG n YG) that he no longer use. For the pass 4 months he mostly wears the DD40 WG olive dial daily. So I wanted to get him something he can rotate.. My choices are between A. DD40 RG 60th Olive Dial Deconstructed Roman B. DD40 YG Champagne Deconstructed Roman C. DD40 RG Sundust Deconstructed Roman D. DD40 RG Diamond Paved Love to hear your thoughts. I am in no rush. I got a month or two to decide. Thank you in advance. Cheers! Jen Ps .. I am very sorry for not posting any photos to make the poll easier n more fun. |

The DD40 RG with Olive dial is my favorite DD configuration. I love the deconstructed Roman numerals that are exclusive to the DD40.

I too am thinking about the RG Olive Dial.. however he already own the same dial in WG.. will it be too much to own another one? I know the RG Olive Dial is stunning in person too.

I know it wasn't a choice, but IMO this is the hottest DD40 out! Meteorite/ Baguette Dial on WG

Ah - I misread the first time and only noted the 3 PT DDs. I agree with your concern here. Unless you're really crazy about the Olive color, 2 DDs with that same dial may be a bit excessive. Will say the Olive + RG has a very different look to it (overall) than the Olive + WG.

Interesting! He wears a meteorite ring! However, he got too many white metal watches.. I am trying to spice things up a little for him. Yeah I agree that meteorite dial looks HOT! I own a DateJust 31mm with that meteorite dial on a SS jubilee bracelet.

My choice is B. The best looking YG DD40, IMO.

Does it have to be a DD. A platona covers what you are after I think and they wear bigger than the standard Daytona.

No point buying the same dial. Get something different. Get the champagne. Classic and he doesnt have anything close to that combo.

Rose gold/sun dust is amazing. And provides contrast to the collection. Love that one.

When you're closing in on 20 Day-Dates, a little overlap is hard to avoid...

Wow, your husband is a lucky man in terms of wife and Rolex at least!
I'd think he would like any of your choices. Good Luck |

But how about something completely different? He's obviously got almost every combination of DD. WG GMT, Platinum Daytona? Or another brand? Gorgeous collection and your DJ 31. on a second thought, he probably already has those as well :D Good luck!

I would mix it up and get him a Patek or a Platinum Daytona. Does he really need ANOTHER Day Date?

Since he owns so many DDs, I would suggest to get some different, i.e. PP5711 Platinum.

Is he interested in any other references? That’s a lot of day dates, but if that’s his thing, there are still a lot of great options as mentioned above.
