Nissan GTR daily driver?
Anyone here use a GTR for a daily, how do you like it? Looking to take my cars from 3 to 1 and the GTR seems like a good option. Will be driving year round. In snow, rain, etc.. maybe 10k miles per year. Been looking at 14 or 15's.

Why not, it's a Nissan after all. Never heard anything bad about these cars, probably the most reliable sports car around.

Ummm, I would not want that type of torque in inclement weather.
I would not make it my daily. I’d think about a WRX instead.

Def doable. Reasonable comfort, easy entry and exit. The car is truly amazing. The all wheel drive is probably one of the best and will adjust when any slip is sensed so the initial torque off the line or at slower speeds will not be an issue. You will need to change to winter tires when the time comes. The only issue is ground clearance in the snow, so no matter what you choose in terms of sports cars, your limiting factor is ground clearance. You are better off getting an old Jeep for heavy snow duty and the gtr for the rest.

Test drive it before making the daily driver decision.
Car guys will daily drive just about anything and call it a daily. I daily drove an s2000, so I know how crazy the ‘daily’ argument can get. |

only bad thing i remember about these cars is the launch system. if it caused problems you were sol and it was not covered under warranty. that may have changed.
that and the fact that nissan electronics are something to be desired (have issues). bear in mind this is from 7-9 years ago.

An acquaintance of mine drives one year round here in Buffalo NY. He puts Blizzaks on it.

Friend at my golf club drives his year around. I am about 180 miles from you so I know your weather. He says it goes great in all conditions.

I had an S4 once with all seasons.
It was not great in the snow. And anything over 6” and it was tough to move through. But I’m sure you know more than I do. It’s not a car I’d want as a daily. That’s just me.

The MB GT-S for a skosh more would be fast and better for daily use.

I’m not a GTR owner but one of my best buddies at woke uses his as a daily. And I see them around my neighborhood here and there during weekday commute times.
