DD 40 white or yellow gold?

Turning 40, gonna treat myself. I’m stuck between metal colors though. Rose does not work with my skin tone. I am ruling out olive and blue dials because they are very specific and I want some degree of versatility.

Yellow. Great idea to get a DD40 for your 40th bday!

I really like the modern version of a classic. Some great dials to chose from in YG as well. All can be bought "right" thru a TS.

Good Luck on your hunt!

Most models I would say WG, but not on the DD. White dial YG is my favorite in production DD.

DD 40 white or yellow gold?

Has to be the yellow gold as it’s the classic and iconic Day-Date spec. Perfect for a 40th. I went truly iconic with the champagne stick dial, it will give years of enjoyment.

I'm currently doing the same thing. I'm going to flip my Olive dial for a more traditional dial color like white or champagne/silver. I personally think and so does many on here (based on my thread) white dial is the cleanest/most crisp and easy to read combo no doubt. Its an iconic combo as well.

For a DD40 go YG.

If I did YG it would be champagne / stick or roman

If your going Champagne I think sticks would be a better option. The Champagne with the romans the dial is not as easy to read.

I went with the dd40 yellow gold Roman white face, it's the most legible dial

What else do you have in your collection?

I prefer white metal but that’s just me. Most will say that the yellow gold DD is the quintessential Rolex.

I'm a little biased as I have a YG DD40 with champagne/sticks.

In WG, I would pick the silver quadrant/romans. That quadrant dial is really special.

Tough call. It’d be WG for me. Really dig the white Romans and the black with sticks but haven’t seen either in the metal sadly.

How about the WG DD40 with the dark rhodium dial / Stick Markers?

Thats a great combo. If your set with white dial roman then the YG DD is the best choice. Good luck

My gf tells me to get WG because YG is out of style

I say, how is anybody gonna know how much money I wasted on my wrist watch?

Go yellow gold. 99.9% of people will think you white gold day date is a stainless steel. People who think they know about watches will think it's a datejust LOL

I really like the Day Date 2 in WG btw... so im not completely jaded

To add some photos. I absolutely love this watch, think it’s amazing. Also added a photo of a white gold with stunning meteorite dial.
