Daydate which one though

After reading and looking on line for a long time I’m debating if I should go for the classic 36mm or the 40 or 41 DDii. My thought are it’s a classic and Rolex made the watch bigger to please the masses. I have small wrist and I think the DDii is almost too flashy...where the 40 or 36mm to me look more aesthetically pleasing.please let me know your thoughts. I’m looking to purchase soon.

I've been going down this wormhole myself lately.

After some time researching and reading, I'm off the 40 or 41mm. I have 8" wrists, and to me the DD 36 is the classic DD, just my opinion. Classic and perfectly stated at that size IMO.

I'm just stuck on reference now, 1803 is stunning, some classic dials, but still wandering down that road myself.

Looking forward to seeing your choice.

IMO Go bigger 41mm. I have small wrist myself but like DSSD 44mm, it wears nice.

Id get the 40 if I was you as well. Especially if your considering the DD41 which would mean your wrists arent exactly tiny

Lucky for you, these are readily available at AD's to try on, which is what I would suggest you do and from there you should know which works! Good Luck!

Im 6' 1'' 210ibs 8 inch wrists. When I do wear my fathers 18078 it feels perfect and looks classic. Get the 36 and never look back!

My wrist is 6.75” i went for DD40. I thought about the 36 but the 40 case was more modern and i bought a gold watch... it should be more in your face and thats what the 40 was for me.

My advice go try it on and try on the different dials

Remember the max 5 rule ie. 5x wrist radius, this will always mean that you are wearing it, not the reverse.

All three sizes of the DD are great. It comes down to personal preference and wrist size. Also the amount of money you would like to spend. Go try on the DD40 and the 36 at your AD and see which one works the best. See what they will do on a deal and then get over to look at our TS. Many a deal to be had and watch to be found. I own a DD II and I like the size and the look but I am a larger person and have a 7.5-7.75 wrist depending on the weather. See what works and go forward.

I decided on 36 for my 7.25 in wrist. Just perfectly sized. However get the one you like best. You can never go wrong with a DD

Bought recently the 36mm, like both sizes
You can not go wrong with a 40 or 36mm.
36mm although is THE classic reference.

36mm due to your wrist size.

See DD40 vs DJ2 on the left.

The DJ2 also features the oversized bezel same as the DD2. Honestly I think it looks a bit bad, definitely not as good as the refined and correctly proportioned DD40 or DJ41.

I keep the DJ2 anyway as it was a gift, but I would flip it for a DJ41 if it wasn’t. Newer proportions are much better and aesthetically pleasing.

Buy a pre quick set DD. It's the best value out there. You can pick one up for around 10k, whereas a good clean vintage entry level SS sub also starts at 10k.

I'm sure I'd love a 40mm DD (I wear a Deepsea regularly), but the 36 is just so classic.
