Did they make a 2009 M series Daytona, or only V series?

If I'm permitted a guess, I'd say that there is no absolute correlation between when they run out of stamped cases in the series and the beginning of a calendar year, so you often see a series span more than a year and some series share a year.

Additionally, am I missing something or has 2009 have a few days before it starts let alone ends?

There are a couple of "2009" daytona's on ebay. But some are M series, so I was wondering if it was a bogus claim or if they actually do have 2009 M series. There are a few 2009 V series on there as well.

Ah, ebay. Again maybe someone can correct me, but the only significant difference in Daytona models as of late is the new clasp. If those are being referred to as "2009", then there are both M and V series watches that have that clasp and cost more as the result. So if the clasp is the issue for you, focus on that and not the series.

You can also do a search here and read all about it.

Here's a snippet:

It's $9200 for an M with the older clasp. Mine, a V, and the later Ms with the new GMT IIc clasp are $9925.

Rolex produced Daytonas serials M and V with old style clasp, also M and V serials with new clasps. I personally have a SS Daytona V serial with old clasp.

2009 Daytona's? Maybe because the auction will end in 2009.

Good one Matt!

Technically speaking, all the Daytona's being produced right now are 2008 models, regardless of the serial letter.
