Dry Suit Divers: Do You Wear Your Sub, SD4K, or DSSD?

The last time I dove was in 72 degrees (Blue Springs, DeLand, FL) in a 3mm suit.

I am preparing to start some training for an Alaskan dive in 53-44 F water, and will use a back-entrance dry suit and other cold-water accouterments.

With the dry suit and under-suit, I'm guessing with the extension there's going to be no way to get my DSSD around the glove without getting a custom strap?

Who would sell an extended length high quality diving purposed strap please? Thank you!

Of course.

My question is, in a cold-water diving dry suit with undersuit, I don't think my DSSD can get around my wrist even with the extension because the cold-water set up is so thick.

Are there extended high-quality diving straps manufactured to put the diving watches back in the game with cold-water set-ups?

Well, I guess it's true then...on the internet there are those who give answers before first reading the content of a post, so wind up completely missing the actual question.

It's when this sort of hasty, inattention to detail of the citizenry becomes commonplace that buildings crumble, bridges fall down, empires fall, and indeed civilization itself falters and stumbles Zombie-like to the brink of collapse due to this rot and decay from within.

And here we are with another example, watching it happen. Sadly, we're doomed.

Sorry I don't know where you can find the strap, but I hope you can find one and have a good time on your trip though.

Well...as I haven't done dry suits in a while(I look for the warm and exotic stuff), but, my Deep blue will go over the suit

I’ll see if this helps...I don’t fully understand dry suits however I have worn my dssd over a 5mm full suit and 7mm gloves and know it will fit fine using the dive extension- so 12 mm of wetsuit. On this setup you put watch over suit, move up to forearm, put gloves on, roll sleeves over gloves, then pull watch down to wrist and secure last.

Out of curiosity, do you use your Rolex as primary dive watch or just as backup to the electronic?

I don't own a deepsea, so I can’t share my own experience, but this should answer your first question (doest that fit over dry suit without extra extension):

Deepsea Under The Pole by Rolex

Under the pole

However, keep in mind that this is a sponsorship expedition, so they have to « show the watch ». I dive in cold waters (Belgian lakes) and I never put my watch on my wrist, but I hang it to my dive jacket (less risk to bang sth and break the bracelet). If you decide to do so anyway, I advise you to build a neoprene protection (kind of a bracelet you put over the watch to ensure it stays on your wrist with a hole to show the dial).

Looking forward to own my first rolex in a few month, and I’ll take it everywhere too, whether under or above surface, that’s the way you build memories with it!

Dive safe.

I can't imagine the Deepsea wouldn't fit using this technique. If you're dry/wetsuit combo is like a space suit then you're just going to need a special made nylon strap like they use for the Speedmasters in space.
