Pls Help. Sub 116613 Flat Smurf Bezel not Clicking and can be turn both direction

Hello, I just got my First Sub 116613, I got it used and the bezel is not clicking and can rotate both direction. Is it just the spring and can be fix easily?

Also, I can see that there is "dirt" or looks like gold residue on the 10 oclock hour marker. is this normal? If I am going to have that dirt remove will rolex change the whole dial or just the hour marker?

I also think that it is authentic, Please let me know if you think otherwise.

Thank you all.

Ceramic going both ways on a Submariner? Not speaking to authenticity but I don’t think I’ve heard of that. Get a tooth brush or even dental floss and after soaking in warm water and using dish soap brush underneath the area where the bezel turns and although it sounds like there an issue with it turning both ways that needs a service perhaps. It does loook authentic though

Looks good; did you got it with paperwork / warranty? The bezel should not rotate like that; maybe an easy fix but if in warranty send it to RSC

Bezel shouldn't move both ways, and it probably is an easy fix.

From video's I have seen the 5 digit bezel was a spring bar, but on the newer ones it is different as described here (google search):

https://www.bernardwatch.com/blog/ro...10-comparison/

Quote:
In the 16610, a single click-spring controlled the bezel’s rotation and it could become stuck or rotate freely. It was also difficult to seat the bezel accurately, the bezel might be a frustrating half tick off of true centered after being replaced during service.

The 116610 uses four click-springs set into the case. This results in a perfect alignment of the bezel markers and a consistently smooth and solid turn.

It is out of warranty. Card is dated 2011.

THank you for the replies.

How much do you think to have the bezel fixed? Also how about the "dirt" on 10 hour marker? If I am going to have that fix, will Rolex change the whole dial or just the hour marker?

Thanks

You are in NYC, I believe there is an RSC there. If you can, just take it in person to them and see. Perhaps they can do a quick check for you and fix the bezel while you wait or something. You never know.

Sorry don't look good to me. Make sure is authentic with a rolex AD or an independent watchmaker.

Just got it today by mail. Got it from an auction site. Paid alittle over 9k. Good deal or return?
It is complete only missing are the outer cream box and manuals.

If rolex can fix it for less than 1000 I think it is still a good buy. Don’t you think?

Thanks

The only thing I will mention is that the refinishing on the brushed case and bracelet is terrible. I would return that watch for a refund if possible.

What's with the brushing on the top of the case?

Suggest you get to RSC and ask for a service estimate. I’m sure if it’s not authentic they’ll tell you.

Look at the diagram then look under your bezel with strong flash light . You should see 3 round balls that the bezel rides on and one notched or squared off that engages the bezel teeth. see if that one is not engaging or if you don't see it its missing hence bezel will turn both ways. all four are spring loaded.

.

Yes the ceramic inserts float on 3 spring-loaded ball-bearing and a spring loaded click stop.Would suspect on the OP watch the click stop spring in broken a easy fix but will have to go back to Rolex.Thats one of the many downfalls of ceramic not a DIY fix back to Rolex.

Ohh yes, I can see the 3 round balls at 10 , 1 and 4 oclock but I cant see the square or the other one that engages the teeth.

It also looks like that the bezel is slightly uneven, 9 oclock space between bezel and case is less compares to 3oclock. I can easily insert a nylon thread on 3oclock and alittle more force on 9 oclock. Misalignment problem?

I noticed the same thing too. Amateur refinishing. Whoever did the work incorrectly brushed it like a 5 digit reference; not to mention how wavy the grains are on both case and bracelet. I would try to return it if you just got it.

Its actually one click/detent and three ball bearings. If it checks out ok, my guess is the detent part is broken or has a has a broken/jammed spring
